Love to see it. Great core and they worked hard as hell for the win. Only thing I see is Ellis not super engaged overall. Maybe he's just more low key.
You gauged that from the celebration video?
Man, seems like a 'not slapping of fives' observation.

No. From watching all 3 games. He's not even pictured in the video from what I can tell.
Not going to go looking for problems. Trust the process.

You can see him sitting across the locker room in a blue sweatsuit, right in the middle of everyone else.

He's also super shy. It is what it is. Enjoy the win and all that comes with it!
Great confidence builder and a good sense of what home court advantage can mean. The players definitely got some energy from the crowd and vice versa. Pavlov's dogs were rewarded nicely. Helped illini chit the bed eyna?
Now 'bout those free throws no matta...huh?

Yeah, I spent some time talking with him at the summer event. Nice kid, but definitely low key. I wouldn't read anything into this.

I can see that. I figure he may be in his head a bit like any freshman trying to carve out a small role. Hope he can find a way to contribute a bit.
Shaka loves him. Offensively he's not close, but if he can show he's reliable on the other end he'll continue to get those spot minutes.
Speaking of freshmen... Joplin is gonna have a game where he cans 4 or 5 threes off the bench. Shot looks really good and he's just rimmed out a handful of them.

No, more attempts than not matter

Yes—I agree. Most of his 3 attempts are in rhythm.....just haven't gone down. Shaka believes in him. Super athletic for a kid that big.

Agree. Every time he shoots, I think it's going in. Keep taking open 3s, young man.
This might be a dumb question, but was that the "silent treatment" (a la, a first MLB HR) they gave Shaka when he entered? They really pulled it off!

Kudos to the kid who came up with the concept, and to the team for executing on it.
Free throws saved our offense last night

Yeah, 18-31 will certainly do that in a one point game. ;)

Well, if they had made 16 of 17 instead of 18 of 31, they lose.

If we did not get that 32nd deflection, we lose.

And if they made 23 of 31....
The number of attempts were great. The % in the last 5 minutes was terrible.

Maybe, but the poor shooting background affects FT's just as much as it affects 3 point attempts. ;D
