Hm.
Ughhh. Why??? Very disappointed in GE.
Wow. That's a lot. Very surprising to hear.
Apparently he punched coach smart in the balls on a screen in practice, he was attempting to show him how Brad Davison plays.
That reads like underage drinking if he wasn't obviously of age. Maybe a bit of the devils lettuce?

He bet the over on Marquette scoring 50 points against BS.
Shaka laying down the law
He used a 4 letter word:
Wojo
It's interesting because he had Greg rep the team at the coach's luncheon yesterday (with Morsell). Would seem odd to have him suspended but allowed to do an event like that, maybe a recent lapse in judgement?

He keyed the MU court!?!?

Refused to flush for Shaka after the coaching staff burst their Real Chili cherries today?
I will say that GE was yucking it up tonight and certainly did not seem down about anything....for whatever that's worth.
Weird.

Hopefully he just said something that required coaches discipline. I've always got draymond green kinda vibes from him, he says what he's thinking and he's funny.
All anybody can do now is speculate and hopefully Greg's given the benefit of the doubt. But obviously I have no idea what's going on either.
Also in no way did I think TAMU was insinuating the worst or encouraging speculation, even though I quoted him. As a lurker of this board, in my opinion, TAMU is easily Top 3 of posters by quality, probably higher. I'm just trying to preemptively stop an embarrassing rabbit hole of scoop trying to guess what happened.
Better lower the projected MU scoring totals to the 40's now....

4 games is quite a lot for just saying something
Apparently he got "immunized" and not vaccinated.
Too soon?
Can you not play in exhibition games if you are planning on redshirting?

Yeah, unless Shaka is the hardest of hard-asses, I can't imagine it's a case of mouthing off / argument with teammate during practice / etc.
Didn't some say that he appeared to be playing hurt during the recent open scrimmage? I wonder if he'd have been shut down for the first few games of the season anyway.
According to the JS article he would ha e played a ton last night and had been practicing at a high level. Good article.
We need to remove the ATM from the Union, it's been getting our guys suspended for years now.
From what I hear, Greg is a 5th year senior who has been acting like a 5th year senior. Shaka don't play.

Kentucky they just take you to the casino and tell you which seat you might want to sit at.

Admirable. Completely futile, but admirable nonetheless.

Can't wait to hear this when Marquette hangs 70s on garbage teams. Let's see them score some points on high major teams before we suddenly deem this offense anything other than not good.
Also, disappointing about Greg. Would prefer to have him as opposed to not, but he doesn't move the needle much, tbh.
See, I told you Greg wouldn't start under Coach Smart.

you can. It used to be only Freshmen who could do that and still redshirt but the rule was changed a few years ago to allow everyone to play and still have the opportunity to redshirt.

If a player is hurt, you don't say he was suspended.

I didn't mean to insinuate that MU would say he's suspended to hide something about him being hurt, etc. - more that he may not have played much in the beginning of the season anyway.
It'll be interesting to see how he responds to this. It seemed as though his playing time might take a dip this year anyway, and now that he's in the doghouse, you wonder if he can recover.

Shaka said in his post game press conference... "He's been practicing, been doing a really good job. And honestly if it wasn't for that (suspension) he would've been in the game and playing significant minutes."
My sources are sketchy but I heard he wrote a letter

Possibly, but then again he may save Marquette's ass in a few close games with hot 3pt. shooting. Plenty of concern on scoop about where our offense is going to be coming from this season. I think we our already slim chances of upsetting Illinois got a whole lot slimmer with Greg watching from the bench. And I think Shaka made it clear that Greg's being suspended was not an easy decision.
Voluntary suspension to get the new guys more minutes.
Greg is a saint.
Illinois suspends Cockburn so MU suspends Elliott. Even playing field once again.

I think most people thought GE did not play because he was injured. Why not let people think that instead of creating speculation about what he did.

Holding people accountable is important. Especially young adults still growing into young men. Lying to people is not a great message from your leader.

He was wearing a boot watching practice, but coaching staff said he isn't injured and then suspended four games. Very odd situation.

Also played at the open practice. Might be confusing him with Stevie, who was in a boot at the practice.

I'm dry heaving while I say this, but I saw that dodds said it on his board. It seems bizarre that he would just wear a walking boot as a precaution without injury but then again, it's dodds saying it. Anyone else hear about this ?

Probably got suspended for wearing a walking boot without permission.
