Threadworthy , aina?
https://www.milwaukeemag.com/miltalkee-inside-the-milwaukee-dialect/
I was at a conference in Texas once. I met a guy from a college in Pennsylvania. After we talked for a bit, I asked him "hey are you from Milwaukee?" He looked at me puzzled and said "Yeah...grew up on 39th and National. How did you know?" I said it was the accent.
I have wondered how dialects in the USA first originated.
My theory is it followed with the original homeland of the immigrants.
A large influx of immigrants from a particular region of the world.
Any other theories welcome.
WIRED has a fascinating 3 part series of videos about how language, dialects, and accents throughout the country formed. I don't know how I stumbled up on it one day, but glad I did.

In Boston, you can even tell what neighborhood a person is from by their accent
never understood where the term warshing machine came from as there isn't an "r' to be found even remotely within the word.
also, people who point with their middle finger...i'm like, something the matter with the ole pointer finger? i used to think it was an older generational thing, but notice young to middle age use it as well. not necessarily to point in a direction, but to something specific...like a back molar. always makes me smirk a little, behind my mask of course

You know they're flipping you off right? Please tell me you realize this.
Pointing with the middle finger is NOT a thing but "pointing" with the middle finger to casually flip of their racist dentist is very much a thing.

The number of times someone points at something with their middle finger without it meaning FU = 0. Maybe you have similar interactions as that POS Rocket where people use their middle finger to "point" at things. EVERY time it means they are flipping you off.
Also, my lovely bride of 17+ years is much younger than I am......never fucking reference her.

Aren't you the guy that got called out by a mod for doxing a fellow member, doubled down on it, and continues to make personal attacks on them? Yeah, I'm a bit sensitive when a person who displays that type of behavior (creepy and intrusive at a minimum, Keefe Lite/deranged at a max) mentions my family.

You're aware there's a Report to moderator link on every post, right? Try that since it bothers you that much. You're not going to resolve anything this way except annoy everyone uninvolved on the board.
