Notre Dame has 1 too
Interestingly, Cincy has three wins: UL (though hurt), WVU and Pitt.
Of note, Prov has one (UCONN), Nova has two (Cuse and Pitt), and SJU zero.
we can still win the BE

Planning on kidnapping some guys from Georgetown, UConn, Pitt, Louisville and ND, are you?

Put down the Kool Aid. we are fighting to make the NCAA, not win the BE.

Really?? didn't they beat MU, UCONN and WVU????? Doesn't that add up to three??
As after every game we were not expected to win, that somehow turns into some sort of unacceptable loss...How many thought MU was going to win this game? How many BE teams have won at ND in the last two years? ND has won thier last 34 games at home, yet some of the assinine comments here suggest that the expectations for MU should be to win every game they play. Overreact much?
They beat the team by 26 earlier in the year.
Home games are worth 4 points not 29!!
No kidding. I am amazed at the number of people on this board who seem to have thought that just because we returned 4 starters that we were going to set the Big East ablaze, drop banners at the end of the season, and have our ticket to the Final Four punched in February.
Finishing the season with 12 Big East wins is not that far out of reach. And outside of maybe a handful of top, elite programs nationwide, going 12-6 in a conference like the Big East is NOT the disastrous season many on this board have been making it out to be..
12-6 in the BE? We're going to go 6-1 the rest of the way? Dreaming is free.

I would be extremely pleased with 12-6. Considering we are 6-5, I highly doubt we lose only 1 more game. not likely at all.

The funny thing is, about a month ago I said based on getting 3-4 road wins we would finish a respectable 12-6 in the Big East. I was told that that was pessimistic and it would actually amount to a very disappointing season.

really? i mean, really??? amazed?!?!
i think people would have been
amazed in the spring of '06 to find out that 2 years later that "the 3 freshman guards" would all still be in school playing togther. i think people would have been
amazed after that MSU game last year to hear the team with a returning Dominic James and healthy Jerel McNeal would have only 1 road victory in the Big East.
4 returning starters (in reality more like 6 returning starters, DJ, WM, JM, Ous, Lazar, and Fitz) is something college coaches dream for, especially when 3 of them have started together for 3 straight years now.
i figured we'd set Big East ablaze rather than fighting to keep out of a double digit seeding.
banners and Final Four, no, but fighting to keep off the bubble.... absolutly, without a doubt,
HELL NO!

funny how the first part of your post criticizes those who had high expectations at the beginning of the season, when the signs all pointed to success, yet you've seen the product this year and then basically say they're going to win 12 (6-1 the rest of the way) games in the BE. talk about
high expectations.

I don't think it's inconsistent or high expectations at all. The next five games are very winnable.
@ Seton Hall (5-6 Big East)
Pitt at home (6-4)
@St. John's (4-7)
Rutgers at Home (2-10)
@ Villanova (4-6)
After that, it's just G-Town (admittedly the class of the league, but we get them at home) and Syracuse (6-5).
Also, if you re-read my post you'll notice that I never said that we WOULD go 6-1 the rest of the way, just that looking at the rest of the schedule, with only one team having a markedly better record in conference play than we do, it's not inconceivable.
The 3 road games scare me the most - SH is a HUGE game for us
Good call NotKirk, although Im hoping you're a game off ;D
Calling muParty, 79Warrior, and ATWizJr.
