My guess walk on. Looks like a good student from the Dallas area.
Cool....
Who???
Yeah, was weird that his page also said he had an offer from Kansas!

That was a retweet of his HS teammate Cameron Corhen.
He played on a loaded HS squad where he made 1st team All District

Jaylon Tyson--6'6 wing ranked #33 OVR in 2021 and committed to Texas.
Cameron Corhen--6'9 Center not ranked currently in 2022 but a number of high major offers

Looks pretty limited athletically, but a nice spot up shooter. Probably walk on, maybe preferred one.
Welcome Cameron! Looks like a nice addition. Passin*, court vision, three point shot. Nice.
This is interesting. He can show off his talents in practice and, if Shaka is impressed, be in a great position to replace an out transfer (a virtual certainty- when, not if) and become a scholarship player. I think this may be a great strategy for a guy who may be under the radar and apparently has not received high major offers.
Sounds like a great young man. Glad he is Marquette bound.
Let's not oversell this now.

Exactly. Teams need live bodies at practice.

Every once in a while , one of the High Major State Universities will land a walk-on that turns into a contributor. These schools can do this because of instate tuition. Austin Thornton at Michigan State about 10-12 years ago was a great example of one who turned out well. The Badgers regularly get quality walk-ons because kids just want to be part of the whole big school sports environment rather than play at a low D1 or D2.
I think it is much harder at a private university where the kid has to pay full freight. So , yes, the model for a school like MU is bodies in practice. Hopefully they can stay for multiple years.
