Now that the smoke has settled, are there new members on the board or have they changed their tune?
Seemes to me that coach Smart is saying he intends to win on and off the court.
Seems to me that coach Wojo had as his priority winning off the court.
Then we have coach Smart giving Buzz lots of praise.
Interesting how what goes around comes around.
Then Theo goes to DUKE, there is more to this story than is being reported.
What else is new?
You are reading too much into it. Especially Theo.

Bush did 9-11
Working on this long, have you?
Having talked with some BoT, the role of the BoT is greatly exaggerated.

Exactly. Not only that but individual members aren't really around for long.

Agreed. Board set salary parameters and was otherwise uninvolved until needed to approve the choice of Shaka. Apparently the rumor that they wanted Moser vs Shaka is all BS.

I wouldn't say that. But yes people overestimate the role of the BoT
I smell Zizzo in all of this intrigue...

Because you have some first hand insight, would it not be fair to say that some Trustees wield greater authority in specific areas based on domain expertise?

Some DNA lingers and the impact is indelible. A Doc Rivers legacy may be ephemeral while a Zizzo imprint spans generations.
Just as it isn't fair to compare the French Army to the United States Marine Corps one must always remember that not all Trustees are built alike.
Though, Doc and Zizzo are not on the board any more. They may have influence, but not as trustees.

And if it's not BS, it could be more accurate one or two BoTs wanted X or Y but to say THEY ALL is not accurate.
From everything I've gathered, this was done the way it should have been done, Scholl and Broeker were able to do their jobs.

That would be news to some members of the Board.
Interesting insights into the Board and the process, thank you.
Nevertheless, I heard coach Smart thread the needle.
As in, "winning on the court and winning off the court".
Sounded to me like new marching orders coming from somewhere.
Perhaps over thinking on my part, perhaps over listening.

There are absolutely board members that would disagree.

There almost certainly were some who favored Moser. But I think Gato's point was that the BOT was not overwhelmingly in favor of him, as some here implied.

That's not what Gato said though.
End of the day, the BOT voted to approve the hire as is their duty.
