There were folks on the Joplin thread who wondered when the young man would commit to Marquette. I simply provided yesterday in this posting that today would be the day. I feel terribly about providing additional detail on a hot recruiting candidate. Please accept my sincerest apology for the inconvenience.

I would also like to point out the information was 100 percent accurate.
We are all supposed to be on the same team and I've read plenty of posts that I felt were asinine and divisive. Someone providing information shouldn't be criticized simply for shedding light on a topic. It's quite head scratching.
But don't act like you had a scoop that no one believed.
I started the other thread on April 8th.
Then, on April 12th, it was posted that he would announced on Wed, April 14th.
On the 13th, you posted "It's coming tomorrow!"
You were correct, but it wasn't exactly a new insight. In fact, it was a 'done deal' for people in the know.
I didn't see the date referenced. I never would have posted had I seen that information in another topic. I simply missed it.

I mulled a dozen responses, but you're infrequent here, so I figured I'd go there courteous route.
On this site, we try to let kids have their moment. Posting innuendo or vague comments is usually fine, but most knowledgeable posters tend to be more reserved when it comes to insider info. If you want to read the kind of stuff that's usually behind a paywall, well it was behind MU paywall sites about 3 weeks ago regarding Joplin.
I welcome the info you bring and hope you contribute to the site, but this isn't a site where people try to spoil a kid's moment, particularly when they specifically dreamed of a day like today. If you want to post behind paywalls, those sites are there. If you want to share with friends via PM, that's also done here regularly. But for kids like Joplin, it's nice to let them announce their own news, especially publicly.
