3 or 4 kids the following year he only has 1 senior. So he almost has to hold onto another 1 or 2. Hopefully he does not make a big mistake on the kids he takes
this year, could be a long 2 or 3 years of being a cellar dweller. Losing Aidoo really is tough. I am surprised if he does not keep Gainey on his staff. That will be
interesting. How do you sign assistant coaches when your time has to be spent recruiting. In saying that, he does not have to sign any assistants, but can tell assitants
they are hired and those coaches can see some recruits when there not on MU's payroll. How legal is that? I am not sure, has the whole staff been fired yet?

If Shaka cant hire a staff and recruit at the same time we are in big trouble. Luckily, this has never really been a problem for any coach, ever, in a similar or worse position.

I can only read this post in the voice of that kid from Home Alone who bugs the airport van driver. "How fast does this thing go? Does it have automatic transmission? Does it have four-wheel drive?"

Why can't first year players be consequential and elevate the team?
Why does one assume that a college coach can only do one thing at a time?
Why does one think that college coaches don't have a network of people to hire or assist with hiring?
Why do assume that no quality basketball players want to play for a high level D1 school with excellent facilities, good NBA pedigree, and with a prominent coach?
Don't worry about things you can't control, just rest assured that we don't have the gross incompetent running the program anymore. If you don't feel better about the future of the program today than you did 2 weeks ago, I'm not sure you ever will.

I agree with this analysis. This past year we were led by a coach who didn't even think it was a problem that we missed the tournament. Like, he literally thought he was getting a free pass for the season and how dare anyone think he was doing a bad job?
Best thing about hiring Shaka is that the expectations of making the tournament every year will no longer be shied away from or not even mentioned at all, which was what happened pretty much every year under Wojo, with the exception of year 5.
It's too early to know if the roster will be a "mess" or not. We opened the vault for Shaka so he could make it beautiful.

I really have no idea if we are going to make the tournament, but our chances have significantly risen in the past week or so.

Yep. We got this, doc!
The only thing that is "messy" about this years roster, thus far, is some guys at the end of the bench might stick around an extra year. That isnt a major problem.
We have 2-3 available spots dependent on Mitchell. And we have offered 3 transfers, and some UT recruits might become available in like a week.
Shaka will Be The Difference, hey?
