We have:
Wisconsin
UCLA
Texas
We will also likely play 3 of West Virginia, St Bonaventure, Temple, Clemson, and Boise State in the Charleston Classic. There are two teams still to be named, so they'll be in that mix too.
I would like to see a Buffalo, Belmont, or Wright State type of buy game that is a high powered mid-major.
And in the Big East/Big 12 Challenge, I absolutely want Texas.
I would make it extremely weak outside of the bigger names we already know. That way the players get acclimated to the new regime and new teammates without getting their confidence destroyed during the growth phase.
It is a year away but Marquette and Notre Dame to renew series in 2022-2023.
Craig Pintens, Stan Johnson, and LMU.
Obvious choice......Fresh meat......ND......
An OOC Catholic school we've played before but haven't in awhile (not counting ND since they're on the schedule for 2022-23). Any of these maybe to start:
Gonzaga
Loyola
Saint Louis
Dayton

The problem with the last three is that Marquette would never take a home and home with any of them, and those schools would likely not take anything less.
Shoot for the stars. If any blue bloods will have us - schedule them. Wojo era non-con was littered with teams Wojo should've beaten, and we often took bad losses (Georgia 2017 comes to mind).
I'd rather schedule the best we can in non-con, be an underdog, and give our team a chance to either learn and get a lot better or shoot into the rankings with a few wins.

Fact is they will need home games. I would be happy with one additional P6 school outside of UCLA, Wisconsin and B12 challenge. We were slated to be a 2020 Gavitt Games participant so maybe that will continue for this year.

I wonder if something would work with Loyola for a game here, and a return game at the United Center. We would likely bring more fans in Chicago.
Seriously:
ND
For Fun:
UT
TAMU
Loyola
Georgia

UCLA will be at home this year as we were in SoCal last year, right?

Schedule Georiga just to cancel on them, imo.

Yep. At UW and UCLA at home. My guess is B12 road and home Gavitt.

I think we are going to get a proper offseason that allows them to gel, so this is less of a worry for me.
Get a team or two from the upper end of the summit league for buy games...plenty of Wisconsin kids play with these schools and their upper end teams like ORU, South Dakota State and North Dakota State are pretty good.

Boooooooo
Don't reinforce low expectations. Throw them out of the nest like real Golden Eagles. They will learn to fly eventually.
I would definitely like Gonzaga. I also wouldn't mind reestablishing our rivalry with L'Ville or Cincinnati.
Well UNC owes us a visit.
Abilene Christian?
Texas A&M
Georgia
We already have:
@UW
3x Charleston Classic
UCLA
Gavitt Games
BE/B12 Challenge
20 Big East Games
That leaves us with 4 games to be scheduled. I'd imagine all 4 will be buy games ($$$) though hopefully at least one is of the Buffalo/Vermont/Belmont persuasion. The only way we get another significant opponent is if we aren't in the Gavitt Games this year.

Why would that be? Not disagreeing with what you're saying, just curious why.
I'd really like them to look at upgrading the conferences we get buy games from. Look at the MAC, Horizon, and Summit instead of MEAC & SWAC. Better quality of opponents and better for the metrics since the move away from RPI.
How do we get Michigan for a Gavitt Game?
Personally, I'm tired of Iowa and Purdue.
A road game as the first part of a H an H vs. either UVA or VCU. I get (former) Fluffy's stating that MU would not be willing to do an H and H with an A10 team but VCU would catch the attention of national media and maybe be televised, so an exception may be warranted. Of course I'm expecting a W but VCU is a solid team.
Disclaimer: The fact that I have suggested road games vs. UVA or VCU has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that I live 1 hr. from UVA and 2 hrs. from VCU. if you accept that, please PM me regarding the opportunity to buy any one of Richmond's bridges over the James River at a bargain price.
Louisville and Cincinnati every year.

No more exciting games than Marquette versus Louisville.

All great suggestions. UC currently has some serious off-court problems to work through, though.
Is the tournament three games in Charleston or is it two there with one buy game type opponent in Milwaukee?
Been to almost every MU - UL game since '96. Gathered from a buddy who's a UL fan there's definitely mutual interest there. May have to wait to start until after the ND home-and-home is done, but definitely a possibility that happens in '24 and '25.

This is correct based on an old Ben Steele article.
UCLA at home next year
ND home / away series starts following year. I've been told they were working on a home / home w / L'ville to start after ND series
How about UWM ? Particularly if they have Baldwin Jr.
Louisville would be spectacular
Texas will never happen except in the NCAA, for the same reason we would never play Duke, Michigan State or TAMU.
Tennessee would be nice to have the Jilted Longhorn Classic.
Minnesota would be nice to resume an old rivalry.
Michigan, Illinois, Ohio State all would be great challenges.
Vanderbilt because I'd like another home and home at Memorial Gym and Milwaukee.
MSU so we can tell Joey hello.

Every mu game has been televised for like over a decade.
Cleveland State home and home would be awesome.
I'm well aware this will never happen.

Yep, this is a fun thread to share everybody's wish list, but we already have a big slate of highly competitive games. It's hard to imagine playing anything other than those 4 buy games.
I'm already psyched for the Charleston Classic. Here's hoping Shaka can field as competitive a team as the optimists among us expect.
Charleston Classic line-up is tough. Add in a B1G and a SEC team most likely.

If we're going to play Louisville or Cincy, why not throw Memphis in there? In two years lets play Gonzaga
Let's play Memphis. Would love to see a home and home. Penny is going to have them back in the tournament next year. They would have been this year if Lomax didn't get hurt.

Indiana would be intriguing with the parallels of new coaches.
