Fair, but it's a pretty limited data set and I'm guessing most of the games were played in November or December. I am more interested to see what he does in February and March.

Starting to really grasp at straws now. Just last year he won the toughest conference in basketball. Something tells me he wont have any issues with the likes of Georgetown moving forward.

Haha grasp at straws? I actually started looking this data up to prove to people he'd be just fine coming to the big East.

That's fair. Just thought it was something worth posting once I'd compiled it

Agreed. Always love to see data points.

Honestly, all data from the past 7 years is not making the Shaka hire look that great. he did not do a good job at Texas. If he did, he would not be leaving to come to Marquette. The Shaka fans here are hoping he will replicate his tenure at VCU. I would not bet on that happening.

Norm, you have every reason to be nervous but I think coaching hires are like marriages. Everyone needs to be going on in the same direction.  Texas is a tough place to win.  There's pressure but not passion.  Looking at the Big 12 now, I'd take that Oklahoma job in a minute.

With Shaka + Marquette I think we have the right combo.

Learning about Shaka's background it appears he will be the type of person who will improve and adjust, learn from his mistakes.
