Both underachieved and both teams were completely outhustled.
In fact, I don't know if I've seen a lazier group than Shaka's team this year
LOL.
They don't belong in the same sentence. Period.
As someone who was not convinced by Shaka on first look, I'd recommend doing some research on his teams, then come back and see if you want to keep polluting the board with the same sentiment that has been shares in multiple threads on the first page.
Who had the under on time it took until someone complained?

Would you say the same about Tony Bennett's team that lost to UMBC? Holtman's team that lost to ORU?

I mean, there's certainly some concerns about this year's Texas squad. Sure they're overall top 30 in Adj. O/Adj. D effeciency. But their offensive TO rate is really bad and don't really force TOs on D. FTR is pretty medicore as well.
Shaka NCAA +/- at the end of regulation -4.
Wojo at the end of regulation:
-39.
Huge difference.
NCAA appearances in 8 of his 11 years as coach...with a FF?

Wojo lost by 19 and 20 (39 combined) points in his two NCAA appearances. His team competed for awhile with SC but was overwhelmed down the stretch and was blasted out of the gates by Murray State. They were simply unprepared and outclassed in both games.
In Shaka's last 5 NCAA appearances, he lost by 2 (OT), 3 (OT), 3, 4 (OT), and 1 (13 combined). The 3 was a half-court buzzer beater and the 1 was FTs with 1 second left. Shaka was in every one of those games and the bounces went against him. If those games go the other way, Shaka doesn't take our call and we don't have a shot at him.
I'm also curious if you watched them in more than the ACU game, because I saw them a number of times and (even in the 'Nova loss) they generally looked pretty darn good.

You and I were similarly skeptical, Hound. And now we're similarly supportive of our new coach.
We Are Marquette!

Good info, Brew. Thanks for sparing me having to look that up in response.

Said this in another thread but wait til you see the threads after Moser wins tomorrow, or Monday, or any game next season, or is comfortably #1 in the MVC and MU is on the bubble next year.
The woulda, shoulda, coulda club is going to look for every opportunity to cast shadow
Who will be the first to throw out the Shaka-slurper line And at whom?

I'm just not a big believer in "luck" or "bad bounces" in basketball.
And you may want to try and ignore the ACU game, but Shaka's team's lack of hustle was noted by the announcers multiple times.

I think I made the joke that if we hire shaka, we're in good shape because we already have a projo/nojo contingent for him.

They had 7 Top 25 wins this year. They were really tough in a lot of big games

Sure they "lacked hustle" achieving a higher pomeroy and seed then Wojo ever did this season and also "lacked hustle" when they won the conference tournament in the 2nd hardest conference in the country this year as well.

Goose, I would love to join you but I've been a "Nojo" for so long I think I've forgotten how to slurp...
Does anyone know if there's a support group for this?
