Widely assumed, but now his name is attached to an official response. No Crean return on the horizon (which is probably a good thing for all).

I like Crean more than the average guy but the other names being floated intrigue me way more.
Not that he was being considered but hallelujah
Reminiscent of when he said he wasn't interested in Illinois ... which was nice because Illinois had no interest in him.
Good, I have no interest in Crean.

Yeah, sounds like Crean got word that Marquette had already made calls and his phone hadn't rung.
I appreciate what he did here, but agree that other names are more interesting.
His ploy for an extension and raise didn't work
Crean sucks
Translated: I lobbied Marquette for the job through my agent, MU gave a hard "No", and I'm getting out in front of things to save face at UGA.
He just said he's not interested in the Lakers' job, either.
Should be in MU HOF, but no return for part II is ok.

Technically it would be "Part II II"
This is the best news I've heard since I found out we had decided to move on from Wojo.
Crean - as per usual - denying interest in the job that he likely already sent out feelers too. Goodman doesn't say "Crean and Marquette" in the same sentence without Tommy giving him the go ahead.
Thank goodness the "back together again recycled girlfriend" rumor looks like it is dead in it's tracks.
Chico weeps.
I just want to confirm that I have no interest in being the Queen of England.

In the jungle, the Scoop jungle, chicos weeps tonight ...
To the extent someone actually asked the question, I thought his response was perfect and respectful. It was a great match for a number of years, but all love affairs end. Eventually, the girl is gonna put curlers in her hair.
Orr fart in bedd, hey?

He didn't say he wasn't taking the DePaul job though!

I am sorry, but your personal attacks violate the prohibition against hateful harassment advocated by the Executive Sports Editor of Marquette Wire and many on this forum. https://marquettewire.org/4051400/sports/comerford-life-is-more-than-just-sports/ Remember, Crean is human, with a family like the rest of us. Put yourself in his shoes and be more compassionate. At the end of the day, basketball is just a game and there is already too much hate in the world.
Just tellin' it like it iz, Conster, hey?

He's had some practice over the years with those statements.

His results at UGA leave something to be desired. However, I would take his results at IU any day.
Nice saving face set of comments from Tom.

Only former Marquette blood we want to bring home is Brian Wardle

LOL, that was an absolutely ridiculous column.
The #FireWojo hashtag was somehow cruel and over-the-top mean?!!?

I'm supportive of MU's decision...but I'm not sure who could find anything wrong with how Steve handled himself professionally. He just didn't win enough...everything else was great. There's no need for many of those comments.
Spend a little time at MU practices under TC, see him in the community, etc. and I understand why he rubs many the wrong way. The fact that many of his old players feel he was a good guy counts for something, but there is a lot I don't care for.
Tell him 4ever is not interested in him, hey?

Um...no.
I have an idea:
Let's start a GoFundMe to bring back Tom Crean
Pretty much guaranteed that TC will donate at least $100,000 to this cause.
Boom, the soccer donation is finally paid off.

The 3-Amigos + Lazar were exciting BB. Great entry into the BEAST.
But we have moved on. No more Crean!
