Before anointing the next coach as the next Al or declaring that he/she is a Wojo retread, let's wait and see what happens. I Ave to admit that when we hired Buzz I thought it was a bad hire - turned out he produced solid results. Conversely, back in 2014, I thought Wojo was a good hire - turned out he produced very little. We are not too good at predicting the future. How about we just support the new coach and hope for the best?
The number of magicians and alchemists out there is not large.
I think most, if not all in the MUBB community will give all coaches a chance for a while.
I do feel a lot of the discussion/ agreement/ disagreement right now is coming from the fact that MUBB is at a crossroads and this a once every not so often MUBB change.
MUBB fans are (hopefully) smart enough to realize we need to back any coach for at least a while to give them a shot!

Hiring a coach is a shot in the dark. I truly believe that. Plenty of hires made a lot of sense and fizzled and vice versa. I'd hope whoever the next hire is, the fan base is patient. A lot can change between the hire date and first tip of 2021-22. There will be attrition. Hopefully not a Year Zero scenario like Penn State.
Whomever MU hires has my full support. I know a hell of a lot less about this than Scholl does so IMO he deserves the benefit of the doubt.
I promise to do that unless the admin hires a literal Wojo retread of some kind (i.e. Stan Johnson).

I really don't think he's even a legit candidate. He has to be way down the list. Stan is a guy that I think would always have his eyes west, anyhow. The state of Arizona may have some jobs available soon

I felt the same way about both hires!
One can see the semblance of a game plan, scheme and philosophy in any well-coached team, even if the talent curve will have to catch up.
Buzz presented all three very early and was fortunate to have players who could execute.
Wojo never got any of the three on track and, as a result, his good players never made the team better than the sum of its parts.
As long as I see basic coaching competence then I will have a long lead on patience.
Give him a chance? Where's the fun in that? Man, you don't know Scoop well, do you?

Holy cow, honesty.
I am all for that; just don't want administration to wait 5 or 7 years to see we are just spinning our wheels or realize they actually fell off the wagon.
If I were Wojo I would stay out of Wisconsin. Wiscon has changed since I lived there, I think I'll stay away as well.

"in order to be fair, I think it would be a mistake to let Coach Dale go. Give him a chance."

How long would you say that chance should last? 8,9 or 10 years.
Giving a new coach a chance around here is wishful thinking, good luck.
