Marquette Women are a 10 seed against Virginia Tech Usually do not post about the Women's team but with lack of news for the Men's Team........
They play at 11AM central on Sunday on ESPNU. Somehow they were also one of the last 4 teams in which surprises me - guess I should have been more anxious about whether they'd make it than I was. But at least they're dancing for the 4th season in a row which ties a program record. It would have been a record 5th season in a row had the tournament not been canceled last season.

seems a spot or two low. But certainly a winnable round 1. And, avoid #1 in rd two if an 8/9.

I expected them to be an 8/9 but I also didn't expect them to be one of the last 4 in either. The Big East was pretty weak in Women's Bball - DePaul's late season collapse sure didn't help.
Baylor as a 2 seed is pretty tough should they be able to get by Va Tech in the first round.

He just had his 2nd Covid vaccine on Wednesday and tested positive for Covid on Sunday. He hasn't had any player interaction lately so it's just him out. His top assistant Chris Daley will probably take over for their first two games and they'll still probably win both games by over 30 points easily.

Remember watching Virginia Tech as I recall and they had a foreign player I think from near Russia and she was a center and was highly recruited but am not sure.

UConn # 1 Seed for the 22nd Time
Is Bueckers potentially the best female player of all-time? I have only watched her play twice but was thoroughly impressed. Very unselfish.

Whoa, whoa, whoa. I was told that for 19/20, if they should have been in, then it's an NCAA appearance. You say otherwise. Interesting.

Is Big East Women's Basketball considered bad?
How does 19-6 (14-4) Marquette get a 10 seed and is in the last 4 in? Literally half of their losses are to #1 UConn.

She has a New York to California sized road to travel to be the best player in her program's history.

Before the season Geno was already joking about her "celebrity status".

Yes it is and the Selection Committee showed just how bad they think it is having Marquette be one of the last 4 in. That still really baffles me and bothers me more than them getting a 10 seed. I thought they'd get an 8 or 9 but a 10 is close enough and heck a 10 is often a better draw than an 8 or 9. But 2 seed Baylor is an extremely tough test awaiting them if they can beat Va Tech.
Oh and how bad the Big East is in Women's Basketball is one reason i worry about how long Duffy will be around...

She's got a ways to go to catch Maya Moore and Breanna Stewart. Stewart started a bit slower but then was a 3x POY. Moore, like Bueckers, was BE POY as a freshman, also first team AA as Bueckers will presumably be too.
She's got the potential. She's unreal already, but LOOONNNNG way to go to be in the discussion

Yes, it is. Look at some of UConn's margins of victory in conference play it is ridiculous, 33.83 with largest being 68 against Butler and smallest being 10 against Marquette. In the conference tournament they increased that to 38.33 including a 34 point beat down of Marquette in the title game. Even though Marquette kept one game close they lost the 3 games by an average of 24.33.
It also did not help that Marquette's only no-conference loss was to UWM who finished 19-7.
UConn being back in the Big East might be good in the long term but in the short term it is just highlighting how far behind they are.

The bottom of the Big East is so bad. DePaul's late season collapse really hurt Marquette too - made MU's win over DePaul look not so great any more and made the conference worse. MU was also hurt this year by the shortened non-conference season - they were due to play in a tournament where some really good teams were going to be also. Normally their non-conference schedule would have been a lot tougher.
Their best non conference win was against #63 Belmont.
The NC schedule was terrible and that helped do them in, along with most of the BE being terrible.
