They didn't play great vs Xavier, but MU seemed pretty engaged and energetic. Then today they come out and act like they wanted the season over yesterday.
What happened?
Not to mention, didn't we also have a player quit in between?
How many virtually transferred already?
:'(
MU defense wasn't bad - Gtown finished at 39%. When you hold your opponent to 39% shooting and 21% from three you should win, not lose by 19 goddamn points, right?

If true, that's the kinda thing that can totally kill a team's vibe.
Also the Killings news (in the mix for Albany HC) could screw up team morale.

Given the players Gtown lost last offseason, how did they end up better than us?

Could probably kiss Lewis goodbye if he goes.

They kept the core of Blair, Pickett and Wahab, who really improved. Then they picked up Bile and Carey as transfers who fit into the program and a lowly rated recruit in Harris who developed as season progressed. They started playing as a team few months ago after brutal start.
Next year though, lose Blair, Pickett, Carey and Bile, but have a Top 15 guard recruit.

March.
March happened.
The deeper we get into March , the bigger the turd burger Wojo serves up. We all know this. Why is anyone surprised this happened today?

Thanks for the answer, I was too lazy to do the research. I figured they were toast when McLung left the program. Nice to have player development I guess.

they did lose three guys during the season last year, including Akinjo, who was their stud.

Agree. Also Georgetown had a 3-8 record missed Four Games Due to Covid and then came back and went 7-4 for a current record of 10-12.

I
think he's referring to Perez and assuming, unless I missed something, that him not making the trip to NYC for personal reasons means he transferred. Could be true or he could be dealing with personal issues.
