I have been a fire Wojo guy for two years. Good guy, clean program, knows basketball, credible recruiter...lack of results but outright jaw dropping, head scratching coaching (see inbounds plays tonight). Not going to get us where we need to go.
That being said, if tonight meant something to him...since he never won on that court as a player...but won as a head coach for a team scheduled to bolster the tournament resume of UNC...damn that must feel good. And, Coach, for one moment tonight...i salute you and hope you enjoy.
So, for those time warpers from when the Avalanche Bar existed in all its glory...a .50 cent Rwb beer slide salute to you...and if we run the big East tourney...it will be done with the traditional nakedness of the rugby club.
Cheers and good health to all
Might be the post of the year.
I'll add, I'm glad he can walk into Cameron today for practice knowing he just beat Duke's biggest rival. That must feel really good.
Totally agree.
Life is about the special moments. And for a long-term Duke player and assistant coach, walking into Cameron the day after beating UNC at the Dean Dome is a hard-earned special moment for Wojo.
Chapeau, coach.
Wojo was very humble about the whole experience and completely downplayed his own personal history, but man he has to be feeling pretty good today. It'll be a fun experience for the team to practice at Cameron today.

+1, good post
Agreed, thank you for bringing this excellent perspective.
I witnessed Joe Nethen do a naked beer slide back in the day. He came up with several pieces of glass chards on his body and picked them out by hand laughing. I swore I'd never do one of those after that.

The day they stopped selling bottles or red white and blue and switched to plastic cups was the day my soul died a little...
and the day they razed it, the University lost a good chunk of it's soul. Holier ground than the the Joan of Arc chapel, IMO.

Yes. We all feel hosanna for Wojo-Dukiets euphoria, the guy that has dragged the team into the dregs of the BEast. A job well done, sir.
