Dawson 100%.
He get himself some strength down under the hoop......unstoppable.
DG
Can we hold on??? Nervous.
Garcia.
Never a doubt.
DG for sure.

Dawson Garcia
Honorable Mention
Greg Elliott
Koby
Dawson, with major runner-up props to Greg.
Dawson double double, DJ going by when NC pushed up on us in the half court creating, Greg for making 3s and being a spark.
Garcia.
Dawsome
Theo
Thought he played stellar in the second half and his 10 points made an incredible difference.
Garcia for sure. 24 and 11 against one of the better frontcourts they have played against
I thought Greg got dissed last game, and part way through tonight I thought maybe he'll get one tonight. Played good D, too, which seems to have improved during the course of the year.
DJ's first half was impressive, and his ball-handling made me think it might be like the game at Creighton, where he was clearly the difference. Then there was the second half.
Theo also did a good job, held his own against their big.
You just can't argue with 24-11, and better D against a bigger opponent than in December I ever thought he would be capable of - Dawson going away.
DJ was just outstanding in the first half. Beat his man off the dribble whenever he wanted to, made some great passes, hit a 3, scored on a couple of drives, was totally in control. Unfortunately, I think he got worn out and faded pretty badly in the second half ... but that was still a big 3-point play he hit on that floater to put us back up by double-digits. Greg also was huge in the first half and really had a nice overall game; agree totally with mileskishnish about his improved D. And Theo did well when he wasn't getting silly reach-in fouls.
But from beginning to end, our fine freshman was the best player on the court. A pretty easy choice this time.
Dawson Garcia, clearly.
Dawson, but he had help from others.

Garcia fo sho
I'd actually put Theo #2 with Greg close behind at #3.
Garcia
Dawson, obviously. But it sure is nice seeing Greg have some success recently.
Double Double Dawson ! ! ! 8-)

Totally agree about Greg. He didn't get SOTG against Butler and won't against UNC, but it's great to see him in the thick of the discussion.

Yep. I really like how Greg is getting some love from MU fans again. Dawson for SOTG though.
Surprised nobody voted Perez for his superb inbounding.
Very early in the season, I was guilty of irrational exuberance. I said something like Garcia would start for any team in the country and later, after being challenged, I walked it back a little and said something like he'd start for the vast majority of teams.
The amended version is still true. I'm pretty sure Roy would trade any player in his front court for Dawson Garcia. After seeing a lot of Duke, he'd start there. After seeing Kentucky a few times, he'd start there. Maybe he'd have to be the 6th or 7th man on Gonzaga or Baylor or a few other teams.
He is a talented 6-11 kid with a varied offensive game who also rebounds pretty darn well. When facing a good, tall, shot-blocking defender, he can be a little soft and hesitant - like so many freshmen bigs. He will get stronger and develop more interior moves. He has a very high ceiling.
Again, Dawson Garcia would start for all but a handful of D1 teams.

Yep, I agree.
Another vote for Garcia, but a lot of guys played better than their norm, which was nice to see.

Wojo for dropping a steaming load on the faces of all the Miserables.

1) Great post.
2) Better name.
Congrats to Dawson - first '21 player to get to 3 SOTGs.
