Any idea how it's progressing? I still don't understand why he played after the injury.
He told Wojo he thought he could go. He was wrong.
What IS the injury?

Doctors cleared him to play.
Didn't work out well.
Been off for a bit, we built and early lead and didn't need him. Might as well give him one more game and almost 2 more weeks by sitting him.

I'm quite sure the staff defers to the medical staff as opposed to the player.
They should not have let him play.
As you often say Tower...Freshmen being freshmen/they are young. I don't think this was Justin's exclusive call to make.
However, this is consistent with your protection of the head coach.

Given that the season is lost anyway, I wouldn't be surprised if he was done for the year as a precaution.

MU taking advantage of the 10 day break. Extra rest. Why push when you can be sure? He'll be back. MU didn't need him today.
Justin's injury sucks, for him and for the team.
Also sucky: Oso's injury. This would have been a great opportunity for him to get some meaningful PT. He'd have made a ton of mistakes, but it probably would have accelerated his learning curve.
I feel bad for both young men.

per the radio call of the game yesterday, Homer indicated MU trying to find an opponent to fill the gap. (anyone know why the Gtown game is off?)

Gtown plays Feb 20, FEb 23, Feb 27 and March 2. That is why. Not sure when Gtown could fit it in.
FYI, there is an entire thread dedicated to what game we might be able to fit into our schedule.

If MU needs another easy win they could always schedule Bucky for a return match.
Doubtful but would be nice to have Lew back for UNC bigs
I wouldn't hold your breath. While scheduling the UNC game appears to show that they still want to fight to the bitter end, I don't anticipate them playing Lewis or Oso again this season unless they are told that there is no chance of worsening the injury. Maybe if the improbable happens and we're one win away from a tourney berth and the reinjury risk is low. I think both are done for the year.

Did he re-injure it in the game he played? Or should he have never played in the first place? I don't remember how long he played, but seems like quite a long time to be out if he was close enough to play and didn't re-aggravate.
JFL is questionable for UNC. Oso and Tommy are OUT.
Lewis makes us a lot better.
What's wrong with Oso?

A slight gust of wind caused him to shatter.
I kid of course, he has a leg injury suffered during practice is my understanding.
And some scoopers thought he was the second coming aina?
82—you're on here more than most everyone. You can figure out who thinks Osa only needed an opportunity.

Don't know about Scoopers engaging in such hype, but that's classic Dodds behavior. He builds up signees using his tired and lame blender. Then once they hit the court and it's obvious (even to clueless him) that such expectations were BS, he pumps the breaks with a laundry list of excuses

In an alternate reality, if Lewis never hurts his ankle, he would've hit three of Dodds' freshman walls in this stretch of games and any expectation of consistency is crazy because he's a first year guy. He can never be wrong when he plays both sides of vague arguments.

Everything that Dodds writes is weirdly pathetic. It's like his brain comes up with excuses in real time and he can never be convinced otherwise. Dude is the definition of a jabroni
Here's a link to the Lewis injury thread on Dodds' site if you guys want to see his excuse making in action

I don't believe he re-injured it. I think it was more they thought it was one thing and after that game they realized it was another thing.

That makes sense. Thanks.
Also, one of my favorite Dodds-isms is the thought that seniors in their last 2 months who haven't shown much in 3 years, will turn into All Big East players since their careers are ending.
Anybody know when the team is flying to NC? It will be interesting if we learn who is on board. Let's hope Lewis is going and not just to tag along.
On another note:
Rumor has it that Dodds is leaving Milwaukee for a position as PR Manager for ERCOT in Texas.

Sucks. We'll need Theo and Dawson to be at their best and to somehow stay out of foul trouble.
Let's go!
Perez and Akanno are going to bring it.
Stinks for both of them, but a really tough break for Oso. He had a chance to get some serious PT after Justin got hurt but then he promptly followed him onto the D.L. Injuries are part of sports, but that doesn't mean anybody hasta like 'em!

It's like when Chico called Brendan Bailey an "all-timer". He got called out on it, and then he backtracked and was all like, "I said he COULD be an all-timer!" It's like that. Not exactly like that, but it's the best example that comes to mind. Just slurpery for the sake of slurpery.
