1. Yeah, it was Butler playing without Nze and unable to hit a drift with a snowball. But it is better than losing.
2. Bringing size off the bench. More motion with Greg.
3. Greg brought different energy to the starters. What might have been.
4. Jamal played the most focused game of his season.
5. I hope Garcia's hand is an annoyance, not a problem.
6. Would have liked to see Perez and Dexter get some second half run.
7. Need Lewis and Oso to heal.
8. It was a good night. I am going to enjoy it.
Shazam, Butler sucks more than we do, hey?
Put it on Wojo's resume he should be circulating.

Yay?
Fools gold.
No, it wasn't fun. Butler is one of the worst P6 teams in the country this year, and they were playing without Bryce Nze.
Let's not try to dress this up as anything more than what it was: A win versus a really crappy team. Slurping isn't going to help anybody at this point.

If it's not fun, why do you even bother? I don't get it.
When you're playing out the string it takes a lot of the excitement out of it. Not bitter. Just facts.
Nice to see the veterans playing well, and Koby more on the bench. It sticks to much in his hands when he is playing. Turnovers were less since he was on the bench. Hard to believe Torrence can not make an outside shot, oh well
Winning is more fun than losing. No matter who you play.
BTW, according to MU's site, we also beat DePaul tonight! Double bonus!

But some will dress it. Waiting for the Wojo-Dukiet worshippers to lobby for a new extension.
Kobe on the bench a ton tonight. Definitely helped with turnovers and missed layups. Love the D he brings but Wojo has needed a quicker hook with him all season. There are many correctable turnovers that can be dissuaded with some pine time.

Make one comment that is hard to believe, Butler just beat St. John's, still can not believe it, any give. Night
Look, we played well tonight. We all know Butler isn't good but that doesn't change the basic facts. It was a solid performance and for the most part a complete performance. In the grand scheme of things it means very little but it was good to see these guys get a W.
Great win. Happy for Greg, Jamal and Theo. Glad we got to experience a win.

I know you want Wojo fired but hyperbole here is ridiculous. They aren't even the worst team in the BE and knocked off St. John's last week and beat Creighton.
Northwestern, Nebraska, K State, Iowa State, Vandy, BC, South Carolina, Washington, Cal, Miami, all worse.
I must say, the Sarah Rose tributes and well wishes are fantastic. Great job by MU Athletics and the team in their postgame celebration. A definite highlight in a year of adjusted expectations.
At least some team is doing bad that was supposed to be not that bad. At its not MU this time
Wish we could do this every night. I enjoyed tonight. It doesn't change my thoughts on the trajectory or future of the program, but big wins are fun.
I couldn't help but wonder how Butler fans are feeling about their coach, considering how we feel about ours and how badly we beat them.
How can anyone find a game "fun" when it's two awful teams with absolutely nothing at stake? The only outcome of a win in this game is a bad outcome. The best outcome for this season is every game being a loss from here on out so we can clean house and start fresh.
I agree with mugsy. The difference in intensity was evident from the start. On both offense and defense. Defense especially was bigly better. If we can keep this up we'll win some future games. Injuries hurt.

Because I'm a Marquette fan and I'd rather watch them win than lose, always. I get it, I want Wojo out, but I'd rather watch us win than lose. I've never enjoyed a loss.
This year has been a consistent string of disappointments. We get a couple sugar highs early, and since then it's been downer after downer, but the wins are still more fun. And frankly, if the administration chooses to keep Wojo because he finishes 2-9 instead of 1-10 with both wins over Butler, I guess we all deserve what we get. Tonight was a nice reminder of what I hoped this team would be. Enjoy it while we can, I don't expect many (any?) more of these.

I was glad to see Greg have some success. Jamal got a double double. They are good kids busting their butts.
I have had some back and forth if I think it's better for MU's future if they lose and that triggers firing Wojo. But I do hope the players have success.
Happy with a win. I admit it is in large part because I was fully prepared to lose to a pretty bad Butler team, but even as depressed and pessimistic as I am I can't bring myself to cheer for a loss. Go Warriors!
Enjoyed watching several of the guys play well, and more than that, on many many many occasions they seemed to be pulling for each other to play well. They enjoyed the feeling of a team victory.
I agree with those who say that if you can't enjoy a Big East road win, why even bother being an alleged "fan"?

Seriously, that was a classy move calling a T.O. when Elliott had the cramp. I'm guessing he doesn't do that if it's a 3-point game - nor should he - but it wasn't and I was pretty impressed by that.
I wonder if Butler fans are ripping him for it, though.

That was shocking. Announcer said "good sportsmanship" which is 100% true. But also a dumb move if you want to help your team win games. Still not sure what to think of it.

I was there. Talked to Cain's uncle. Congratulated him on his nephew's double double. First? Decent MU contingent in the house. Lots of us were able to sit in section behind MU bench as Butler fans were awol. Socially distant bball is awesome. No lines, traffic or anything.

Yeah, in real time, I said: "Wow. That's great sportsmanship ... but jeesh, the game is far from over. He might need that time-out later."
I mean, there were 15 minutes left in an 18-point game -- and Butler came back from 18 down the last time they played us.
I think most coaches would have had their team try to push it to take advantage of the 5-on-4 and then, after you score, let the opponent with the injured player call the time-out. Honestly, I'm pretty sure that's what I would have done, too. And I don't think it would have been "poor sportsmanship."
But it certainly was incredible sportsmanship to do what Jordan did.

Interesting.....any good options?
Cannot say anything negative about MU played tonight. They played well. As for Butler, that is a poor team and I would take Wojo's program over Butler. I noted several years ago that Butler did a great job of keeping things rolling after BS left and sooner or later it would catch up to them. I think that Butler will revert back to a bottom half BE program moving forward. Not great news for BE.

Nice to see the team play well.
Great energy from Greg. I think with several of these players their confidence goes away for one reason or another and they play poorly but when they are confident they can be quite good. Greg was the example of that against Butler.
Having said that, it was like watching an early season buy game quality-wise, but I still watch early season buy games and enjoy them too. So, a conference win on the road? Even in a bad season, that's a good thing.
Butler is bad. MU was less bad on this occasion.

They got Northeastern. Apparently Xavier tried and was refused. Value wise, our best case would probably be to host a bubble team that needs a win in the first two quadrants. MVC, MWC, or A-10.

I get the feeling from Wojo in the postgame, that if Georgetown doesn't get scheduled, a non-conference will. Can't be a fan of a 10 day lay-off.
So at this point would he rather get closer to a .500 record or a shot at another win so he can say "we had some great wins, extend me!"

And be two of the first in line! Amazing.
The best thing I saw last night was that we got a big lead early and never really let them back in it. Too many times this year we have good stretches and then seem to lose the intensity. Sure Butler is not great but I'll take a double digit road win over a conference opponent in late February anytime.

That would be the school and coaching staff's ideal scenario. Win against Butler, win against Georgetown/additional game, win against DePaul and maybe win the BET Wednesday game.
It would effectively force the school to bring back Wojo and staff for one more season (winning four of the last six games) and not have to justify paying the buyout and getting a new coach.
That would be disappointing on many levels.
