Very cool. The old Mid South Coliseum in Memphis, the Milwaukee Arena before it was called MECCA, the bumblebees. Great memories. Love the leg kick on McNeil's jumper.
For people not quite as old as me, the Mid South Coliseum (where we're playing Memphis State in the first part) was where Michael Wilson shattered the backboard in 1982.
Thanks, good stuff, I remember the best game I never saw because they didn't have TV was the Detroit-Marquette game when they had Spencer Haywood. The radio announcers made it sound like Thompson just dominated.
Enjoyed this, but c'mon. "REALLY old guys" I was expecting to see peach baskets and ladders to retrieve the balls on a make.
Woj, dats how wee do it heer, hey?

LOL. Yeah, I was taken aback when I saw players, arenas and uniforms I actually saw in person. I'm no kid, but I'm still too young to get priority placement in the Covid vaccine line.
I thought it might at least be Kojis....
I saw some of those players in person too -and I am in 1b here in Illinois -but really don't consider myself to be REALLY old ( nor am I a guy, for that matter).
That old-timey music put me to sleep until it didn't.
I hadn't remembered the bumble bee cheerleader outfits.
Marquette was certainly a team back then that you took notice of.
Remember being a kid watching them on the small black and white TV in the kitchen.
thanks Tower remember those teams and the uniforms well was at Marquette from 68 to 75 great teams the high point of MU basketball.
When we refer to a player as a Pogo Stick , Exhibit A is Larry McNeill.
Thanks so much for posting this Tower.
Some great stuff there. Marcus Washington got a lot of in this video. #22 was a beast!
Bonus points to any youngun who can successfully identify #33 and #35, hey?

Well considering I'm in my mid 40s and wasn't even alive when Marquette wore the Bumblebees "really old guys" seems fitting.
Going from memory, 35=easy?
By the way, I am a young guy compared to you Doc!
Everyone is welcome to pile on, hey?
Thanks for the walk down memory lane, Tower!
