Title: [Cracked Sidewalks] Patriot Games
Post by: brewcity77 on February 05, 2021, 06:40:17 AM
If the NCAA uses the NET for straight Tournament seeding, Colgate would be a 4-seed as it stands. But the Raiders outlier NET ranking of #15 is just par for the course in this year's Patriot League. Cracked Sidewalks looks at why having a non-con schedule in this COVID year was so important, as well as updating the latest S-Curve.

I don't know all of the intricacies of the NET calculation, but I really don't think the committee can use it this year when selecting the teams. The article presents one case and I'm sure there are many others. For example, doesn't home court play a huge factor? If so, MU will get killed in that as they've lost way more this year at home than in typical years and I'm not sure it's fair to punish home losses as severely as other years (and vice versa on rewarding road wins). If they use NET as they did in previous years, big trouble for MU.
