Plenty other players to potentially target. Puzzling why Crowder would be in focus. Must be other info we aren't privy to. Hey?

Alternatively, plenty of other players might get death threats pretty regularly. I honestly have no idea.

It isn't puzzling at all.

Care to enlighten us?

I'm admittedly ignorant about many things. But this is puzzling to me.

Some pissed off degenerate gambler mad Crowder made a play that cost him money, perhaps? Not uncommon.

Ditto.
Puzzling and very troubling…

With the highly sophisticated algorithms of the popular social platforms, it’s amazing how those threats even make it to Jae’s inbox without immediately being flagged and the offender’s account shut down. Likely related to sports betting as another poster mentioned.

I’m guessing he means that is what Americans do. Disagree with someone? Use social media to threaten to kill ‘em.

But that wouldn't address the original question:
Plenty other players to potentially target. Puzzling why Crowder would be in focus. Must be other info we aren't privy to. Hey?
GA's response to that was:
It isn't puzzling at all.
Respectfully, that doesn't sound at all like, "that is what Americans do." It sounds like GA is suggesting that there is some obvious reason for the focus on Jae. But clearly, it is puzzling to most of us.

If I had to guess I'd wager it has to do with the BLM stuff

That would be my guess as well. He hasn't been the most vocal supporter but has made several public statements supporting BLM. He also recently criticized how police handled the storming of the capitol.

So have most NBA players. Why Jae?

Maybe he just reads them and talks about them more than most?

Yea, honestly, the gambling angle made the most sense to me. Unless this is a widespread thing and only Jae has mentioned it. It’s sad people do that for any reason.

It does sound like it to me. How many times have we heard athletes talk about death threats after making a mistake in a game? It is what America is now.
-

My guess is most Black players have gotten death threats over BLM stuff. Jae might just be one of the only ones talking about it.

Don't get me wrong...I agree -- to a certain extent -- that "it is what America is now."
My point was that 4ever's initial premise was that it was odd that Jae was being singled out, and Golden Avalanche suggested that there was a reason. In other words, Golden Avalanche was suggesting this is something other than, "it is what America is now."
If you look at my first post in the thread, I started with the premise that this might not be all that uncommon (i.e., "it is what America is now"). It was Golden Avalanche who seemed to suggest that it was focused on Jae for some reason.

No problem, Still. I don’t have any big disagreement with you. I respect your opinion here and maybe GA will finally explain his post.

no it isn't! my God, it isn't even close. many people receive death threats for all kinds of reasons. when someone of "notoriety" gets one, it's as unfortunate as anyone of us getting one. relax a little. you'll feel much better

Pretty sure the packers player that screwed up the Seahawks onside kick a few years ago in the NFC championship received a ton of death threats. Same with the Boston first base man that let the ball go through his legs. I think it happens quite often. Not to mention back then you had to personally write it. Now it's just a click away

Do you receive a lot of death threats?

So your say getting death threats is not America right now.... then proceed to talk about how many people recieve death threats for all kinds of reasons. You see how those two sentences don't support each other?
