Wojo's a legend this year!
Coach K going after a student reporter. Par for the course for him!

Really? He's becoming Joe Pa at the end.
No fool like an old fool, hey?
And to think Wojo idolizes this guy.

I can't remember which post game it was, but Wojo did the same thing to a student reporter a couple years ago.

Yep, the apple didn't fall far from the tree. Just a couple of thin-skinned sore losers.
Maybe they'll take Wojo back from us. We can make a package deal and throw some high life and brats in the deal.

Seriously??
I lost tremendous respect for Coach K when he completely fabricated the Dillon Brooks "incident" after they lost to Oregon a few years back. I also think Oats is 100% correct about Coach K's comments earlier this year regarding safety and COVID-19.

I'm hoping someone can help me out as I know the clip was posted on here somewhat recently, but Wojo did go after a kid following a loss recently.

A student reporter?? Good grief.
Panda, if you don't remember the crux of what Coach K stated after the loss to Oregon a few years ago let me explain why that upset me so much.
Essentially he had this song and dance about Dillion Brooks talking trash to his face the whole game and that "he's too good of a player to do that stuff...I had to take him aside and explain this to him and blah, blah, blah, blah. It's turns out this was a total prevarication, literally every detail. Brooks didn't say a word to him, nor did Coach K take him aside to discuss "the matter"
Now, my disgust wasn't just that the media refused to call him out. It was because his Dillon Brooks "story" is pretty strong evidence that he's a pathological liar. Mainly because there was literally no point whatsoever to make this up and he was very detailed in his language.

I remember that situation well. K trying to teach his opponents to win with class after he loses while he rubs it in their face after he wins. Tale as old as time.

Yes...that was the overall take and a fair one from this situation. I do believe though that he's a pathological liar.

The High life and brats are always a deal maker, but Wojo-Dukiet is a deal breaker. Ain't no way, Duke takes him as HC. Now maybe as jock strap manager.

Going after? It was a dumb question and a perfectly reasonable answer.
Plenty of reasons to hate on K but this isn't one of them.

Flip that around. The question was perfectly reasonable. After a tough loss, the reporter asked "what is the next step forward for the team." There's nothing dumb about that.

Agreed. If anything, the question was dull and innocuous, just an excuse for the coach to spew some boilerplate for tomorrow's paper. It certainly wasn't an attempt at "Gotcha!" journalism.

Marquette is no longer an urban blue collar school, and the basketball program now reflects that.

Was it ever? Maybe if you're referring to the basketball team but I'd be very interested to know what % of this board's population grew up in a city vs suburb vs rural and I'd wager quite a bit you'd see that the majority weren't from urban areas when they attended MU.

Agree. My dad was a doctor, I grew up in a rural small town but in a very nice lake house, and when I got to MU I had classmates driving vehicles my dad hoped to buy some day. Also I knew more private school kids than public school kids (which I was), especially catholic schools. The most popular question at MU was "what Chicago suburb are you from?" Just because MU is in a gritty neighborhood doesn't make the university "blue collar."

I knew 4 kids from Milwaukee proper, 2 from Chicago proper, 1 from Minneapolis proper (and he's easily the farthest from blue collar). That's spread across people from classes of 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015. It's never been an urban
You win, I quite.
When Duke loses. We all win.

All the Milwaukee kids I knew at MU were grads of MUHS, Pius IX, St. Thomas More, and DSHA. Then there were all of the Loyola Academy kids from Chicago, Creighton Prep and many of the St. Louis catholic schools. Most of the non-private school kids were from Waukesha or Tosa high school.
Nice to see Duke lose
