Jay testing positive.
The window is uncertain but it is possible he was positive while coaching against MU.
So MU players could have taken it home with them.
Next few days are pins and needles time.
COVID sucks

Damn. Why didn't this happen before we played them?
jk ... This blows, and hopefully it won't result in Marquette having to pause, too. Mostly, I hope everybody (and especially their older family members) are OK.
Haven't been paying attention but have any players gotten COVID previously? It seema weird that they seem ok playing knowing players have COVID but Jay gets its and they suddenly pull the plug?
MU shut down in early November due to COVID.

Agreed. But what sucks even more is the panic porn, misinformation, propaganda, fear mongering, and over the top bs spread by the Coronabros of this world
350k dead in the US. 19 million have been infected. You amuse me.
And Willie, I don't want this to devolve into politics, but don't pretend you haven't pushed far more fictional conspiracy theories than COVID.
So true. People talking about COVID is much worse than the 350,000+ dead in the U.S. alone. Very keen observation.

We didn't play defense well enough to be considered close contacts.
Part of Wojo's master strategy. Don't have our defenders within 6 feet of Villanova's offensive players.
A potential impact may be that the Nova players then went home for a couple of days (as per their lauded plans), bringing their infected yet asymptomatic selves to their families and communities.

If I heard correctly, Wright was keeping the players at school and flying their families in.

Yup. So this way the asymptomatic players can transmit it to their families on campus and it's the families that bring it back to their community.

Big time fudging in those numbers. As you are well aware.

The only number that Tower fudged was guessing how many fictional crack head conspiracy stories you push out there.

Haha very nice.
I think Jay spent more time with his mask on his chin yelling instructions and talking to the refs than actually wearing it. Hopefully he didn't transmit to anyone.

My neighbor is a doc at Froedtert. He's convinced we've undercounted by about 150K deaths nationally. He cites the actual death counts for 2020 and their rise over 2019.

Probably low. As you will never acknowledge, Jade Helm boy.

Exactly. The numbers Tower posted are likely too low.

Somehow managed to not know about the Jade Helm conspiracies. Thank you --- that was an equally entertaining and cringe worthy read. Thankfully we're a Breyer's ice cream family and not Blue Bell

I agree. And lotsa docs I know feel the same way.
Many states don't count a death as COVID-related if the patient didn't test positive, and we know there was a serious lack of testing for months. Also, many states only count COVID deaths of state residents, without a clear way to convey the number of deaths of non-residents back to the home state. This latter has likely led to a huge undercount in tourist-heavy states like Arizona and Florida.
The guys that need to be worried are the refs... as always he was in their ears, at least during the part of the game that mattered.

Really. What kind of coach does that?! Take the lead from Wojo and say almost nothing to get a call your way.

Yeah!
And he stands funny, too. Like sometimes on two feet.
And the way he drinks from that cup. With his lips and everything.
Wojo can't do nuthin' right. The worst coach in college basketball by a mile, maybe ever.

He doesn't work the refs to get some calls. One of his many game coaching incompetencies. Sorry that's so unsettling to you. I didn't mean to upset you.

Isn't this just the old 'huddle' argument? "because he isn't acting a specific prescribed way I want to see it means he isn't doing it! There's only ONE way to work the refs and everybody knows it"
Fact is, there are a number of ways to work the refs and I don't think there is any proof that refs egregiously call fouls in favor of the other team so what he is doing may be working.............or not, or refs don't get influenced by screaming, or 100 other things.

It's just ridiculous to nitpick on every little thing. I would have no problem if he gets fired. I think we could do better. But I agree with nagini. Such a silly criticism.
Terrible cuddles, too, though!

You think it's a nitpick. I don't. Nor do many of the games most successful coaches because it's widely practiced among them
