Go MU
Creighton Uconn off to OT...
Game will start on FS2 and the FOX Sports App.
The game will start on FS2
Thank you guys
If one doesn't have FS2, FOX Sports App.
I turn it on and see a TO lead to a 3 in 4 seconds smh.
This app not working well on my phone. Boots me every 5 seconds.

Hopefully you didn't miss the rest of this start. Team looks great so far.
Games over and instead of flipping to mu and Xavier they go to a post game talk? Wtf?

Unfortunately I did.
Might have to just keep watching the truly trash Vikings and keep the good vibes rolling.

Im hoping its because they knew we were at a time out.
Nice ball movement to catch and shoot Koby. LIke that.
Seems like DJ gets a lot of really unlucky down and outs on his 3s.
Theo with another nice move. If he can keep looking confident in the paint we will be lethal.
As I say that he hits another. Wow.
Um, Greg?
Kobys D is really damn good.
Ooo Symir is back
Really like Koby's defensive effort so far but his shots so far have not been very on point
Koby bricked that shot. But that right there was an immediate example why its good to have Symir available.
DJ gets a rest. Koby doesnt have to be on the ball and hes found open
3 guys fight for a rebound...leads to X o rebound and a 3.
DJ with a huge answer
Their threes are falling and MU still up 5.
When they do miss their 3s...we really gotta grab some rebounds.
giving up way too many 2nd chances, x winning the hustle plays....keeping us from really extending the lead
very weak with the basketball right now
jeez what was that like 5 trys that posession..
Darn. That's 5 given away.
Way way too sloppy right now
Our sloppieness always leads to points.
DJ had a free 2 if he simply catches the ball. Easy run out.
NOw they are on a 10-0 run. Brutal stretch.
Frustrating. If I just turned the game on and saw the score I would be pleased, but having watched the half I am disappointed they haven't been able to be up by 5-10 points at half.
agony
This year so far....

Have we successfully rebounded 1 of their missed 3s???
We keep going for volleyball taps.
Woof Koby tipped the rebound right to Jones. That was bad
lewis and garcia are playing like freshman in this one. we should be dominating the boards against this team
Missed another rebound but go out of the half with the lead.
Lets grab some boards in the second half and keep pouding it into the paint. We can take this one.
Getting outrebounded 20-12, mostly effort.
9 offensive rebounds for X is no bueno.
X really capitalized on a few of the huge blunders in the half. Why did Jamal lose that ball out of bounds?

He was adamant it wasnt off him. They never showed the replay

It was off him. He was all by himself.
Every single time..
Theo with just a brutal pass and it leads to a wide open 3 for them. Just play smart guys.
Garcia with a good answer though.

Dawson looks pretty good so far.
Jamal has had a real rough game so far. Hope he can bounce back
We gotta start drawing some fouls

Dawson looks pretty good so far.
I really like his aggressiveness lately. A little more offense inside seems to have helped him find his footing. Looking real good for a freshman right now.
Whoever just scored that layup elevates dirty sanchez to a new level
Theo and Dawson getting great looks in the paint.
Unfortunately our D is absolutely falling apart. Getting torched by the the scrub reserves.

Third time Greg has been beaten to the basket. Not good.
Somebody please close the back door!
1st half was "fine" but another missed opportunity to close with larger lead.
3 point D not ideal, in particular Cain, Garcia, Carton. Wojo absolutely lost it late first half after seeing one too many slow, loose, Cain close outs on 3's. Cain's effort level is noticeably better early 2nd half on D. Need a few more McEwen efforts on D.
Giving up too many second chances 1st half.
Need to get to more 50/50 balls, and be more careful w/the ball.
Theo low post is there much of the time. It's also there for Garcia.
A couple of unwise Carton fouls under the hoop.
What on earth was the foul there, Symir pulled his arm back as soon as Kunkel went up.
Every single guy is incapable of grabbing the ball.
And this Kunkel guy is literally laughing in our faces.
MU has more talent (besides Scruggs), just lacking experience and some poise right now.
Justin and Dawson have killer chemistry
Please get Sy out of there!!!!

This is probably the worst stretch of defense we have played. They are scoring at will on us(Koby had good D on Scruggs that was just crazy O).
Scruggs has backed down Koby twice, no paint help.
No answer right now for Scruggins.
Jamal really struggling to hold on to the ball.
Uhhh first DJ now Cain.
Amazing back cuts and both guys simply unable to catch a bounce pass.
We'll win this one, I think.
X is hitting some tough contested shots the past few minutes.
Looking like both teams will get some solid time in the bonus this half
I don't have any idea what Sy was looking at there. DJ didn't get hurt, did he?
We had all that time to plan and we throw the ball to X for a free break away and foul
Holy crap!
wth

Okay, the box score I was looking at had him with two so I was hoping I didn't miss an injury (missed most of the first).

Two quick touch fouls 2nd half, late on a rotation, and another after a made lay up.
Uhh I missed it. What how did we get to 60? They get a T??
And can we please stop Scruggs??
How do they leave the only player doing anything for X wide open for 3. Double team that guy.
Please someone put Scruggs on his ass or something. Rattle him.

Scruggs knocked down 3's, late close outs. Then he backed down McEwen a few times. Then he drove on Jamal a few times. Then he hits 3 from corner, late close out. Doing it all.

Well then he goes behind the back and Freemantle drills one.
We cant get stops.
Wojo no adjustments on Scruggs all game.
Feels like another close loss right now. Gotta get some momentum from stops on D.
We have missed like 5 straight at the rim by simply not going up strong
Really unraveled now
I don't want to bag on him too much but oh man Jamal has brought absolutely nothing today
Scruggs is a career 30% three point shooter, so of course he goes off
X made a lot of contested shots this game. Scruggs going all world on us. Need to finish under the basket better. It's still there for the taking.
That's 4 on DJ.
D is getting abused for the first time all year.
Keep feeding Theo. He is feeling it the last couple games.
DJ lay up foul late again...Lewis needed to slide down and switch there. MU has gotten caught, Lewis, Garcia etc...not switching, not helping.
Ah crap. Might be it.
"Wojo's best defensive team" Well that didn't last very long into the season
Thats looking like a wrap.
Kunkel wont miss either.
NOw trash Carter is hitting 3s
Down 8 with no DJ or Dawson in.
What should they do with the lights?
Yeah that's probably it. I said I thought we'd win unless they shot 50% from 3. They are 11/20.
Still time but we need to drive and draw fouls. Wow

X well over 50% on 3s. Ouch.

Xavier is making everything. Or is it no Defense. Agree there is time yet.
Down 8 and having to listen to Dickie Simpkins ! ! ! TORTURE !!!
There is no resistance. Xavier is hot but , but they're all open looks. We've seen this way too much under Wojo.
CANT FUCKING REBOUND
Lots of time left to win.
Need to win 50/50 balls. Get inside, get to line.
whose this kunkel guy

Someone I can't stand already. But the announcer is even more annoying.
Kunkel is a Belmont transfer. He can shoot it, 3's FT's...coming off of screens, or 1v1 vs Greg or Symir.
Avg 16/17 last year for Belmont as a Soph.
Eligible Dec 5.
Incredibly dumb foul
what the hell..

Quite the difference between Gardner Webb and Belmont..
He must not defend up to our standards
KOBYYYYYY!!!!
Welp, had to happen to us for once.
Kunkled.
Another none rebound kills us.
Just unbelieveable.
And again fail to secure the rebound....
Dagger. Did he travel though before he shot it?
How many times did we not get a rebound (that we were in position for) and get screwed as a result?
rebound

No I think he is look for him from now on
Symir no screen out on Kunkel. Almost no MU block outs for board on final shot. Xavier able to keep rebound alive, and, grab it with good hands. Sums up the game, close, either way, buy frequently Xavier got to the loose ball and/or had better hands.
MU good enough to be in close games with good teams. Have won some, lost some.

Let's take off the goggles. Koby took a trip to florida.
So disappointing to lose largely due to lack of rebounding and defense when those have been MU's strengths so far this season.
Tough start to the Big East. Looking at 1-3 after Nova if we don't win there.
Quote from: BM1090 on December 20, 2020, 03:16:32 PM

Yes difference is he dribbled the ball once to get into position. Koby took a step no dribble then two steps.
We play tough but not so smart, if we get sped up we get beat, loose balls, rebounding and turnovers
like on the inbounds play
If you want to say the refs missed something on the last play, it was the blatant moving screen on Scruggs' drive

Part of the challenge when it happens is lack of crisp strong ball handlers, ...dribble, catch, pass, when playing with pace. Mistakes get made both physical and mental.
On the other end, today, MU looked confused too often on D, with switching, rotations, etc...
Great effort by Koby. He played great on both ends of the court. We almost won because of him.

As a fan of USC football, it's frustrating to watch the once mighty Trojans flounder to irrelevancy. Clay Helton's buyout is huge. He wins just enough, recruiting is excellent, but rarely do the Trojans go anywhere these days. They are what they are. Now, I'm not saying MU hoops is the equivalent to the once mighty Trojans, but Wojo and Helton are very similar. Wojo wins just enough. Wojo's recruiting is good. Similar to Helton, Wojo represents a private, expensive school well. But, just like USC football, MU basketball goes nowhere...and this season ain't no different. Figure 10-10 in the BE, borderline NCAA team (if there is a tourney) with a quick exit. Next season? Just like at USC with a who-cares 2nd tier bowl bid, MU will rinse & repeat.
Been an USC fan 30 plus years. The difference is showing that attendance has went down at USC.

Marquette lacks a guy who has an excellent handle. DJ and Kobe are not a sure thing with the ball, especially in traffic. Symir has not played enough to gauge, and forget about Jamal & Greg. Days of guards who were solid with the ball are way in the past. Diener, Dominic James, Tony Miller, Aaron Hutchins, and Lloyd Walton to name a few. Would just love us to get a point guard who could decimate a defense and distribute.
