Title: MU out of conference opponents thread 2020-2021
Post by: shoothoops on November 26, 2020, 09:03:04 AM
General out of conference opponents thread here. I'll start:

UCLA falls at San Diego St. 73-58. UCLA played without Jalen Hill and Johnny Juzang. Jaime Jacquez Jr. and Cody Riley were UCLA'S primary scorers and rebounder. Very young, one Senior playing. UCLA struggled with San Diego St.'s physicality, and didn't defend the 3 well. San Diego St. went 10 deep, and that was a factor as well.

UCLA plays Pepperdine Friday afternoon in the event's other game.

Wisconsin beat E. Illionis. Green Bay got smoked by Minnesota. Oklahoma State won at UT-Arlington.

What's the deal of OK St with a road game against UT Arlington?

I believe Cunningham is from the Arlington area.

Both Cunningham and Likelele are from Arlington. In addition, it's the first game of a 2-for-1 series, so UTA will travel to Oklahoma State each of the next two years. Basically this was the only season they could give Cade a homecoming, since he's almost certainly headed to the NBA after this year.

UCLA needs triple overtime to down Pepperdine. Pepperdine is likely a top 100 type team this year but still not the performance you'd expect from a supposed top 25 team

Obviously doesn't matter, but I'll throw it here anyway ...

Madison beat APB by 34 a few days after we beat 'em by 42.

So yes, APB sucks, but it's not as if Madison stomped 'em by 100.

They were up 25-0. They very well may have beat them by 100 if they were motivated to do so. The transitive property is meaningless in sports.

And we beat EIU by 25 and they beat them by 10, sooo....  Too bad we can't play them to see who's better.

Hence the first three words of my post: "Obviously doesn't matter ... "

All three of these factors bode well for MU.
