Interesting line at the end. Does Daniels Travis Branham know something?

Tyrese Hunter might not like this.
But seems to be a highly impressive kid on the rise
Last time I saw a jumper and thought "oh that needs a lot of work" was JJJ and a bit of Vander.
But his handles look nice, so no complaints there.

The article did mention that we are looking for 2 guards in the class. Him and Hunter could be those 2.

Always. Be. Recruiting. Also, you can never have enough guards
We Are Marquette Thank You!!
Good start to the class. Welcome to Kameron.
Think he'll shoot up the rankings provided there are some games where he can get evaluated.
Welcome Kam!

Sandy Cohen? Low, slow release. Maybe Jones will be more a slasher, good D. And, Cohen ended up as a good player at UW Green Bay. Was/is a pro in Israel, I believe.
Welcome Kam!! Looking 4ward 2 U hoopin with MU!

I don't know much about him, but I look forward to learning more.

Looks like he shoots with 2 hands. That left hand twists out which isn't a suggest way to shoot. But his finish is very close to Wally Szczerbiak so not a bad shooter to model after.
Like it. Sounds like a nice under the radar pickup.
About as under the radar as a 4 star can be. Like the pickup. Well done by Killings

Is he a four star? What I had read was that he was unranked. Not being snarky. What service ranked him as a four star? Was it more than one? Will his composite ranking be four stars?

247 didn't have a page for him until today. Verbal commits had him as a 2* although IDK when that was last updated. The hope is that he is the next RJ Davis type where he shoots up the rankings his Senior year.
Welcome to MU, Kameron!

They happened concurrently. We are definitely getting him on the rise. Sounds like a really good pickup by the staff given that we were there early before the "blow up" (if that can even happen with the lack of summer ball this year).

Verbal Commits is often lagging when it comes to updating rankings
the kid grew and inch in the time the writer was composing the article. How tall is he going to be when he arrives in Milwaukee??
Welcome Kameron!!!! Awesome. You seem like a great kid.
As to guards.... big guards are essential in the Big East. It is a league of 6'4 guards. Get bigger, get stronger. And when a team has a roster of 6'4 combo guards, it means that no one has to be hidden on defense. It means you can zone with long, quick players up top. It means that a 3 guard set can be run out there with no harm to defense or rebounding.
I posted something similar a couple years ago, that Wojo had to make recruiting big guards a priority. He figured it out. No small ones since.

Though, former major target RJ Davis is listed by UNC at 5'11".
Love it, welcome aboard Mr. Jones!
In 10 minutes of highlight video watching I see good size, some advance level passing, good ball control and some decent body control around the rim. Thing I liked the most is he shows the ability to change speeds on a defender to leave em flat footed. A lot of high school guards just know how to go fast, he shows some promise of good basketball IQ.
On the other hand, that shot ain't got no alibi. It's ugly. Don't see any way that will be effective against high major defenders. Will probably need his shooting form broken down and rebuilt from the ground up.
If the ball goes in, it does not matter. Like that he is lefty, always felt since I was a lefty shooter, I had an edge on not getting the shot blocked. Looks very young,
which might mean he is still growing and I am sure Todd Smith will get him stronger. Maturity comes with age, and he will not be playing for 2 years at MU, or maybe
even 3 years since Carton might have to stay 2 years due to the pandemic. Time will tell.
Nice hope he gets another chance to showcase skills his senior year

Closest I can think of is Shawn Marion
For some reason, I am flashing on Nick Van Exel early in his career. I won't swear to that.
Welcome aboard Kameron. Looking forward to great things.
Kudos to the coaching staff for identifying an outstanding prospect .

11 minute highlight video if it hasn't been posted. I think he shows a good amount of promise. Shot will probably need to be reworked a bit unless he keeps growing. Squares himself to the hoop really well off the dribble and on the move off the ball.

I'm confused. Carton would have to stay 2 years to even be on the roster for Kameron's freshman year which would allow for Kaneron to play for three years, not sit for three.
And let's not forget about Symir. The kid was was playing what should have been his HS senior year as a freshman at MU last year, so he's got upside.
The commitment is nice, but I'll feel better when we get a crystal ball prediction.
Welcome to Marquette, Kameron!
A few years ago I would have declared his shot a disaster beyond reclamation. Ultimately, does the shot have sufficient arc, and can he move it out to 23' ? I think yes to both. Let's hope he's a steal.
Who will be the first Kameron Krazy?
oh boy.
WELCOME KAMERON!!!
And a Tennessean shall lead them.
Cordova is outside Memphis. Real question is how Memphis State missed him.
That shot makes him look like the second coming of Jajuan. 3-star on Rivals.
Welcome and good luck, Kam.
The shot needs lots of work. I predict a redshirt.

You are probably right, it really depends on if Carton leaves and even Elliott who will be a grad transfer, with Perez on board, it will depend who is better. Lots of
options at guards right now. Even Akanno but unless he recruits some bigs he might go with a 3 guard line-up, but all pretty interchangable at the 2 and small forward.
Kam really looks young, but he will look different in 2 years. As much as I like Hunter, they need 2 bigs.
Tall and lanky. Kind of reminds me of Greg Elliott.

I agree. I was thinking the same thing. There appears to be a redshirt path that Wojo is taking at the guard. Sacar, dexter

Another reason why I think this effects the Hunter situation minimally.
Looks like a crafty and shifty lefty. Lefties bring a different, valuable element. Doesn't appear to be overly athletic/explosive, but if he can shoot it and handle it, should be a good guard prospect at 6'3". Also seems to be a high character kid. Congrats to the staff and Kam!
For those who didn't read the Ben Steele article, Jones' coach and Killings played together back at UMass. Those types of relationships can lead to whirlwind recruitments.

Which begs the questions: Who else did Killings play with at UMass? Are they coaching HS or AAU now? How good are their star players?

Does it go in?
Played with a kid in high school who earned a D2 scholarship as a 5-11/6-0 shooting guard. He shot the ball from the side and started the shot from his waist and released it at his shoulder. It was basically a set shot and he was one of the better high school shooters I saw. Played in the Wisconsin High School All-Star game. Was overmatched at the D2 level because of his size and lack of quickness, but he could shoot and could get it off quickly.

He definitely is young looking but love his size. MU will not need him the following year, heck, might even redshirt like Akanno because he may not get lots of
playing time anyway. If Akanno is the real deal, he will start with Torrence if Carton goes pro. Still have Perez and Elliott, add Hunter hopefully, and you have enough
guards the following year. So he is has time to mature, get better, but then again if he is good right away that is a plus.
What effect will the coronavirus have on all recruits? Kameron seems like a player on the rise, which is the type of player I like to get. However, is his development and that of other recruits being set back by the coronavirus? They did not get to play in summer tournaments, which I believe is significant in player development. I think we should expect 2021-2022 freshmen overall to be behind the normal freshmen class in readiness to play as freshmen.
For those who didn't see it on youtube, Kameron Jones had an interview today. 15 minutes long, was quite interesting to hear from him. One part I liked most is he was asked who he's looking to help recruit to MU. Mentioned DaRon Holmes and Carter Whitt, then said "I know another guard just listed MU in their top 10, will look to reach out to him too". My guess is that is in reference to Hunter. Link is below if you want to give it a listen.

Kameron is a perfect fit for the Big East. His length and craftiness is going to create match up problems.
