Post by: ChicosBailBonds on February 03, 2008, 07:03:09 PM
9 Big East teams in the top 45 RPI right now....incredible.

The Pac Ten has 5
ACC 5
Big 12 has 6
Big Ten has 4
SEC has 4.

Isn't it about time to stop referring to us (and the other 4 teams) as CUSA teams? We're in the big east now, and have been for 3 years...

To a certain extent, the BE season is a tournament in itself.

And if you're doing a bracket today, all nine make the tournament. And that doesn't include Providence and Villanova at the moment, who with something like 7-2 second halves could make a case as well. Kind of like that year in C-USA where five teams tied for first at 12-4. While I don't mind the powerhouse team one bit, sometimes the year where there may be no dominant teams but lots of above-average teams can be a lot of fun, too.

You're probably right, but after years of defending the upper echelon of CUSA to the snobbish Big East fans I live with out here, I still root hard for the CUSA transplants in the Big East.
