They both finish the Big East Tourney at 1-0.
Hang a Banner!
So they get the auto-bid to the non-tournament?
Have to play an e-sports basketball game.
St John's is 0.5-0 so congrats to the Blue Demons.

This pic just about sums it up
EDIT: Not sure why the image never showed up
Does it make our last two losses look better?
Speaking of DePaul, that absolute loser Pantelis Xidias is using the tourney being cancelled to say DePaul is not "officially" out of the tournament, so he won't shave his head like he bet everyone. What a complete and utter tool.

I actually side with him here. They beat X and they were technically still alive. If they lost to X and he backed out, that's another story.

a friend who is a prof at DePaul had this dude in class. Pantelis is the same off the bench as he is on the bench.

Are you talking about the special needs kid with glasses who sits on the bench at DePaul? Is he an actual student? My family and I have praised DePaul for including the young man in the team since he seems to be a huge fan.
Pantelis was on the LaLumiere team in Indiana that ended up ranked #1 in the country. I'd suppose he had a similar roll on that team that he currently holds with DePaul.
The head coach of LaLumiere took an assistant job with DePaul a couple years ago and Pantelis followed him to Chicago.
All-Academic BigEast his first two seasons at DePaul.

the first time I saw the kid on the bench in person I thought he was special needs and texted my professor buddy. Nope, just the team clown trying to create a brand for himself.
All-Academic Big East isn't really that big of an accomplishment. You just need to be on the team and have a 3.2 or higher (how hard could that be at DePaul). Many conferences require a minimum contribution to the team in terms of minutes played or stats.

Slow day for me, actually watched that video. Crazy that his prep school played their games in DePaul's arena.
Oh, and he graduated high school basically the same age as Markus graduated college.
What does a special needs kid/person "look" like?
Good for the kid for doing well in school. Not sure MU is all that much better of a school than DePaul.
The guy is annoying on the bench. Why we have to use special needs to insult someone is beyond me. It's 20 freaking 20.

Actually my prof buddy mentioned above was at MU as a prof before going to DePaul (he was a casualty of budget cuts) and has told me repeatedly MU's educational level and quality is far superior to DePaul's.

Get over yourself. My family and I have a very intimate understanding of people with special needs and do what we can to assist and foster opportunities for those people. I will never apologize for who I am and how I help people with special needs.
I am very happy the young man is someone without special needs. I actually like DePaul (not as much as MU) and hope he and the team do well.

Yeah I'll stand by my statement.

Agreed. An eye roll probably isn't a strong enough reaction to the fact we're still labeling people as "special needs" based on how they look.

Can only speak for myself but as everyone can see I never said or implied anything about his looks. I think that is wrong also. My impression came from his actions which are unique for a DI basketball player.
Time to move on.
Gotta say, credit to Scoop for so quickly getting into mid-offseason form.
