RUDY GOBERT
JAZZ/THUNDER GAME POSTPONED
... After Reported Illness
https://www.tmz.com/2020/03/11/rudy-gobert-illness-jazz-thunder-game-postponed/
The OKC Thunder vs. Utah Jazz game has been officially postponed after the match-up was allegedly delayed over Rudy Gobert's illness ... and the scene is straight-up bizarre.
The players were seconds from tip-off at Chesapeake Energy Arena in OKC on Wednesday ... when the refs quickly sent everyone back to their locker-rooms.
The fans were left waiting for an explanation for the delay -- the Thunder broadcast claimed it was due to Gobert's health status and the officials were waiting for the go-ahead to play.
Stop shouting.
It's a copy/paste off my news feed. That is the way breaking stories come across.
Sorry
Im still betting the ncaa tourney is canceled or postponed so we wont have to witness another blunder
Wojo is probably relieved at this point ;)
Tourney will get cancelled. Can't wait for the "but the flu kills more" crowd go ape crap.

Only question for MU is do they fly back home tonight or tomorrow morning? Season over
Tom Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson also tested positive.

In reality, this could be good. The higher the profile of the people who contract, the more exposure their recoveries will generate. Of course, that is assuming they recover. If they don't- it has the opposite affect. However...appears probabilities are overwhelmingly in their favor at 98%+
This too shall pass. But the economy absolutely will continue to be affected negatively - albeit at an accelerating rate.

https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/28887560/nba-suspends-season-further-notice-player-tests-positive-coronavirus
The NBA announced that it has suspended its season until further notice after the completion of Wednesday night's games after a member of the Utah Jazz has preliminarily tested positive for the coronavirus.
The player is the Jazz's Rudy Gobert, sources told ESPN. That led to the Jazz game at Oklahoma City being postponed just before tipoff. The NBA says it "will use this hiatus to determine next steps for moving forward in regard to the coronavirus pandemic."
Please return your MU degree.
RIP Rudy.
The NBA season is "suspended" - not over.
The NHL will have a statement later tonight.
Thoughts and prayers
Apparently there's a tweet that Gobert jokingly licked the microphones before the game.

It was a presser two days ago and Corona was discussed. He "jokingly" touched everything on the table before he left including all the mics, etc.
Karma is a bitch.

After an interview he rubbed every mic and recording device around him to like mock the virus. Guy is an absolute idiot
My wife is asking if maybe the NBA could give the Bucks some kind of Best Record award.

And true to form with this crap, its not just the person acting stupid that gets punished. Emmanuel Mudiay was also going to be out tonight with an illness. Maybe not fair to assume, but odds would seem to be they both have it.
Rudy has a cold.

He is French what did you expect. Wave the white flag Rudy that's what your country men do best.
France's help is a big reason we beat the British in the Revolutionary war. Yet we still have to listen to idiot like you.

Every time I meet a French person, I shake their hand and thank them that our money doesn't have the queen on it.

Seen some outlets saying Mudiay has now also tested positive. Not on any major news source, so it may be people confusing being tested, with testing positive.
Has anyone seen anything that actually provides any detail on what the suspension means? Everything I've read is awfully vague. It doesn't seem to mean that the whole season is over, as the thread title indicates, because the league said they're weighing next steps. But there also isn't any indication I've seen yet as whether the season is just delayed for a while, or maybe shortened, or whether fans will be allowed at any games, etc.

No more details. NBA season is on hold while they determine what to do. The nba season definitely isn't over.

"Suspended indefinitely." You're correct they will probably re-start but that will be after a lengthy delay, expect at least a month.
The NBA will probably start with the playoffs.

Damn. The Cavs were just getting ready to win 17-straight to sneak into the last spot in the East.
Donovan Mitchell of the Jazz now tested positive as well.
If I were Rudy Gobert I would be formulating a public apology.

Jazz players reportedly beyond mad at Gobert and said he's been overly careless about it.

as has Emmanuel Mudiay with the Jazz.
** edit: some sources say he tested positive. Others are saying he was just tested.
I would suspect most of the Jazz have it, and at least a couple guys from teams they've played recently. Plus sounds like the Jazz and several other teams share a plane. So yah...NBA had no choice.
Have there been any reports on where Gobert may have contracted it?
A third floor toilet in Cramer Hall.
