Howard questionable for Saturday's tilt with DePaul.

Sure he broke his nose, probably depends if they can set it, get him a rip Hamilton mask, and get him numb enough that he thinks he can run without pain.

I wonder if it is worse than a broken nose.  Hope its not an orbital fracture.

Can they cover that with a mask?

Maybe he gets the Rip Hamilton mask and goes Kemba mode the month of March.

I'd imagine it's not as simple as a mask.  Part may depend on inflammation.

Maybe this will be one of those magical flukes where he'll gain a special power as a result of the injury...better defense or an ability to create for others?  Or maybe not.

QuoteMarkus Howard is questionable, according to @MarquetteMBB, for Saturday's game against DePaul after suffering a facial injury during Wednesday night's double OT win at Xavier.

"facial injury" sounds worse than bloody nose.

This is all gamesmanship being used to confuse Depaul. Wojo going with the Face/Off strategy to blow the minds of the NoJos.

His nose definitely looked out of place, but a broken nose normally has a lot of blood.  Didn't seem to be anything beyond a bloody nose.  Since he's questionable, might be something else (worse?).

A tip of an elbow square in the face from a big ripping down a rebound???

If he's questionable he's very lucky.

I didn't think he caught him in the nose but his elbow definitely went straight into The right front part of Markus' face.

If it's just bruising and swelling, Markus should consider himself very fortunate.

Same thing happened to me in a rec league game a couple years ago, took an elbow to the nose and went down the exact same way.  WAY more blood, diagnosed with a broken nose.  Was back to normal in 2 weeks.  Markus and I have similar ability and skillset.  I'm serious about the first part of this post.

Thank you for this excellent analysis.  We are very lucky, and very fortunate to have such an astute armchair elbow injury evaluator here on Scoop.  Believe you now are over 100 posts on the topic of Markus " catching a bow."  Keep up the great work!

Based on what you saw, when do you think we can realistically expect Markus back in the lineup?

Close but no cigar......

I WOULD harangue a poster who gushed about how great Wojo was and exaggerated how good his record and abilities as a coach are, and I WOULD be merciless and relentless.

Fortunately or unfortunately, depending on your point of view, I have yet to find one single scooper who thinks Wojo has dramatically overperformed and is willing to publicize their view.

I DO harangue posters who whine about how terrible Wojo is and exaggerate how bad his record and abilities as a coach are, and I AM merciless and relentless.

Unfortunately I have found quite a few scoopers who think Wojo has dramatically underperformed and they are more than willing to publicize their views.

I may parody certain posters styles that I know are irritating but that's the only parody I engage in.

It just seemed to me that some people enjoyed being miserable, so I thought I would help. It turns out, the one thing that makes them the most miserable is when other people cite examples of the positive things Wojo has done.

Who would have guessed it.

An article I saw online said that it generally takes 4-7 days to mold and manufacture a custom face shield/mask. If that timeline is accurate, it could rule out Markus for at least tomorrow's game. And, of course, we don't even know exactly what the injury is.

I'm happy for Greg as well.

I don't think he will be a difference maker in the DePaul game, but in a couple more weeks when the ankle is stronger, I see him giving Marquette some valuable minutes. Just being available for the DePaul game is good enough right now.
