Title: TV for Cincy Game (Minocqua)
Post by: ultimate on January 31, 2008, 12:45:44 PM
Off to find some snow this weekend...anyone know any good bars in the Minocqua area that would have the game on?  Being able to sled there a big plus.

I know Little Musky Bar usually has sporting events on, plus its one of the best burgers you can get up there.

I'm sure Murtaugh's, Otto's, or The Whale downtown would be able to get it, but i don't think they have that many TV's, so if there are other games on it might be a problem.  I would recommend going up to Boulder Junction to JJ's, thats the best place to catch games around there I would say, since they have more tv's than most places but its probably about a 45min-hour ride on snowmobiles.  They usually have more snow up there any way, and less traffic.  I would recommend making a trip out of it, they have really good food too.  Also the 19th hole in St. Germain would be able to get it too.  Most of the bars up there don't have many tv's though, but if you can make nice with the bar tenders, and others there, they prob wouldn't have a problem putting it on.

I've caught MU games at the 19th hole in St. Germain on a number of occasions.  Plenty of tv's, good food, especially the chili.

Cool...thanks for the suggestions guys.
It's been forever since I've been to the 19th hole, but St. Germain might be a bit far as I'll be about 20miles West of Minocqua.  JJs sounds interesting I might have to check that place out sometime.

Hmmm...could I setup tip-ups outside of the Whale while watching the game?

I was thinking maybe the Black Bear right on Hwy 70, but wasn't sure they'd have the game (Great pizza though!!).
Anyone know of any places West of 51 that would likely have the game?

I also forgot.  You can go to S.A. Loons Sports Bar, its right on 51.

I think Black Bear only has 2 tv's at the most, they might be able to get it for you.  Out by flambeau, the only places I can think of would be the casino, or there is a bar right on 47, right across the street from H (i've never been there though).  West of Flambeau is a nice ride to the Pike lake area, but they would all be small bars too.  I still say your best bet is JJ's in Boulder.  From Flambeau, its about half hour by car and hour by snowmobile (and a nice ride on good trails and roads, if there is enough snow of course). Good luck.

if you don't make it north enough. The Final Score in Stevens Point will have the game.
