Mamu still out too, right?
Markus going to drop 30 in the first half, and we are going to blow the doors off of them. We are going to come out pi$$ed off. Take it to your local bookie.
maybe they can play pissed off and cover that bad boy
just saw law doggie's post-we be on the same page
Sacar needs to start off aggressive on offense.
Koby needs to start off confident and aggressive on offense.
Brendan needs to continue to be aggressive on offense.
Markus needs to be Markus.
Everyone else needs to contribute when the opportunities present themselves.
And of course, everyone needs to play aggressively on defense.
After three games in conference, the team should know what is required in both effort and execution.
Wojo better have them prepared.

and we gotta score more than the hall :D
Seton hall by 10.
The providence loss was demoralizing.
(Jk. But seriously. I think the hall BF's us).
I would take MU plus 6. I think we keep it close and perhaps can steal this one on the road.
I'd take MU +6 as well. Sandwiched between 2 road games for SH. Next game @ Butler. MU usually responds well after losses.
Not sure if we pull it off but I think it stays within 6.

So, everyone needs to be better.
Some need to maintain, some need to do better.
Anybodies guess. Who knows which MU team will show up.
hall in a no sweat 10 pt win...
Based upon what we've seen this year would anyone be surprised by a win or a 15+ point loss?
These guys have pride.
I'm calling for a close win or a close loss. No blowout either way.
Sacar for SOTG in a win.

I hope you are right. My intuition tells me SH covers.
MU is +6 as of 6:20 p.m. Pacific time.

There actually was a point to the post.
I'm sick and tired of guys like Sacar, Koby, and Brendan showing up on offense for one game and then disappearing for a long stretch before showing up again. Even in individual games they disappear for long stretches. The Hausers are gone. There's more shot opportunities available. Quit deferring to Markus so much. And when they take it to the hole, they need to take it strong like theyve been there before.. They look hesitant and it shows in the results.
The other guys on the team just need to be opportunistic. I never expected any of them to carry much of the load.
Wojo needs to tell the first three to man the eff up, every game, and every minute they're on the floor..
Thankfully I do not bet on games for better part of two decades. I have zero idea what to expect from this MU team. I would say betting for or against MU in any game is a very risky proposition.
Markus, Sacar, Koby, and Greg will need to drive and dish to avoid Gill.
If these guys think that they are going to drive into the lane, attempt an off handed circus shot and then look at the ref for a call....it's gonna be a long day.
@Hall, vs. Xavier, @G'town....could be 4-2 or 1-5 at end of this stretch. 2 of 3 would get back to .500. So far, they've bounced back from tough losses, so this will be an interesting week.

Sounds like hashish
I would argue that today is a must win.
I don't think they're going to
We need to win this one and it will be tough. The only consistent thing this year with the team is inconsistency. I do not understand how you cannot turn it on every game and be Up for it. This is Marquette basketball. Be ready every game. Period. No excuses.

On the road, 6pt dogs against the team most people predicted to win the conference and it's a must win, aye?
It would be a great win but a loss isn't going to bury us either.

Agreed. I would take the +6 if I were betting but just like the providence game I don't have a good enough feel.

Definitely not a must win. But a loss certainly turns Wednesday vs. Xavier into a must win.

They aren't deferring to Markus. Markus takes 40% of the teams shots while he's on the floor. That leaves 15% each for the other 4 players on the court with him.
And there are actually less shot attempts available this year with the Hauser's being gone, as Markus has upped his shots percentage from 36.7 to 40.8%
This is the formula Wojo has decided gives MU the best chance to win. So far, it hasn't resulted in NCAA tournament wins, and it remains to be seen how it plays out this year.

Just curious. Wondering where you get these stats. Looking at the raw shot attempts, Markus was at 29% last year, and is at 29.6% this year.

Ken Pom. % of shots = percent of shots taken while on the floor. It doesn't factor in total shots taken for the year, divided by the teams total shots attempted. You have games where foul trouble reduces minutes, games sat out due to injury, etc.
What channel is the game on today ?

Myles Powell is at 40.6%. Lots of shots for those two today.

Ummm yeah Markus' shot percentage is up......
Because guys are deferring to him. The whole point was that the other guys have to start being more assertive offensively. The Hausers minutes are available, so the Hausers shots are available as well. IF those guys, step up and take them. Start going to the rack with purpose and finish drives. That's how this group can consistently replace the Hausers scoring. Besides Bailey, I don't think the others can replace Sam and Joeys outside shooting.
I don't know if it's Wojos formula or if Markus just gets more aggressive when his teammates seem passive. Regardless, I think Marquettes chances of winning are better with a more diverse and balanced offense.

If it was the last game of the season and we were on the bubble.
This has been a crazy season so far. Anything could happen.
Stay positive.
If we lose to day I think Xavier becomes a sorta must win. I mean 1-4 is really starting to dig a deep hole to climb out of.
