Why are they pushing this?
Polos, long and short sleeve, please.

Jesus' Birthday
Yeah or they could push colors that'll make sense to wear when they do the stripe out or a gold out.
how about a player who actually plays here now?
If it's not Jordan brand merch, I don't want it.

Just so long as he doesn't see a dime of that money.
More than likely this will happen next year, once players have the ability to profit off the likeness (not to say a player would off this jersey sale directly, but I'm guessing with players having that ability, jerseys with current numbers will be available).

you can put that player's number on. We did that when I was in school with #10 (Miller) and #12 (Hutch) and later with #34 (Diener). Wade isn't getting anything from those jerseys either. It's very mid-major to do what we do with Wade's number.

I believe it won't be until 2023. And I'm not sure it will work like that.
They changed over to all Wade jerseys my junior year I believe (2013-14).

Mid-major like Duke selling #1 jerseys? Or mid-major like Kentucky selling #23 jerseys? Or maybe like Louisville selling #35 jerseys?
I'm not saying the players would make the money. I think the university would just revert back to the old days of selling shirts with current players numbers. One of the biggest gripes heard back players around the NCAA is that the university would sell a jersey with their number on the back and the players would not make anything from this. Just a theory, but something I could see happening.

Woof!
Any idea if they're selling the shorts? I'd get in on that.
They changed to Wade and Butler's numbers after the Ed O'Bannon lawsuit. The schools didn't want to be held liable to pay the athletes at a later time for profiting off their image.

I have a 32 jersey that was for Lazar but everybody says "nice Crowder Jersey" whenever I wear it. It goes to show you that a player doesn't have ownership over a number.
Those are SWEET! Sounds from the original twitter thread that they're already sold out...
I was at the Sprit Shop today. They have the jerseys and t-shirts. Good sales through out the store.
