Don't know outcome, don't know last game SOTG, going with 23.
Settle down.
So far it's Symir
Damn, that's a pretty early call for SOTG. Are you new??
Koby's pressing. Need him to settle down.
It's Big Daddy. All. Day. Long.
Go Warriors!!
Cain. Easy Call.
Cain, lock it up.
Now let's talk.
Easily Cain.
Thought Ed was the best big today and thought Symir should've had more minutes in the second half. Greg with a nice game too.
Cain

Happy for the kid.
Cain.
Cain. 17 and 9 with only two turnovers.
Cain, even though he should be replaced by a UWM transfer
Great game for Jamal. I really like the way he's coming into his own this year.
Easy call. 23.
Jamal. Full stop.
Jamal.
Jamal Cain
Jamal Cain
Easy. #23. Rocky Revenge
Jamal Cain is able to get his first SOTG of the year.
Cain. Second solid game in a row.
Cain't come up with anyone else
Cain...and come back player of the year! Well done young man!
Cain.
JAM-al
23. Oh, yeah.
Barely edged by Sacar last game, Cain is the pretty easy choice this time.
One of my favorite Warriors this season, he has helped us win a lot of games.
He's having the kind of season that many of us expected last year. Maybe he just needed to grow as a player a little more.
Well done, young man!
Cain
No Doubt Cain
RAISING CAIN BABY
Cain with an assist to Symir.
Cain was able.
Cain I kick it? Yes you Cain
YES WE CAIN!
I think you guys are missing Greg Elliott's contribution tonight.
I can see Jamal, but I think Greg would be a great Stud tonight.
Cain was able!
Jamal!
Jamal, and it's not close.
However, seeing Sy in extended minutes makes me so happy for the future. The dude knows how to play point and has so many nice passes. Sets up teammates well.

"Rocky lights fire under Cain and pushes him to next level".
Mind games.
It's unlike me to give a split but here goes
The 8 mile brothas. Jamal and Greg 6/6 from three and the 7th was almost down.
Clearly it's Jamal for the all around game. However, where there's a happy Jamal there's a happy and productive Greg and tonight it brought the win.
I'll say this- again in the slap the five reading too much category- one of the most pleasant things on the periphery that I saw as a MARQUETTE fan the last few years was
1- Greg's positivity in the face of injury, again and again. Last year in Brooklyn guy was first on the bus with walkons on the scout squad with an ear to ear smile. We've all seen his positivity on the bench despite his hardships.
2- Jamal's bond with Greg and his ability to stick around after getting nearly walk on minutes last year. I don't know crap when it comes to insider info, but I know that if rumors about Jamal nearly transferring last yr are true you bet your ass I know that Greg helped keep him around and I'm so glad.
Ps- the story about MARKUS taking Jamal under his wing in offseason, pure gold.
Perseverance. These two dudes, the 8 mile brothers, won this game for MU tonight. CURA PERSONALIS.
This is what it's all about. Thank you Jamal, thank you Greg.
Cain.
Was going to argue for Markus but those last two rushed shots inside of two minutes were so dumb. Reminded me of Buycks vs. Louisville in 2011.
Jamal

+1000 Nicely said.
I was pulling for the double-double- alas he will have to settle for SOTG.
Career night for Cain.
Citizen Cain.
Cain
Cain no doubter.
Nt only was he huge, he was huge when we needed him most!
This was actually one of the best "team" wins in a long time.
Everyone had some positive contributions.
Cain was definitely the stud.
Now, how to get him and BB on the court at the same time???

Those two shots were surprising and disappointing after he had played a pretty patient game, albeit with too many turnovers.
Raise your hand if you thought that, if we were 7-2 at this point in the season, more guys not named Markus Howard would have received SOTG honors than Markus would have.
We only have one proven scorer, but we have a lot of guys who can make major contributions. Nice to see.
Cain. Great night for the man from Pontiac, MI.
Big Daddy Cain for sure
Cain was incredible tonight. What a difference one year and some extra confidence boost can make. Happy for him.
Gotta give it to Jamal, if only for that spectacular dunk after Markus's missed 3
The Libman floor wiper. That stick got a lot of action and tv coverage last night.

Love this
Cain. This the season for "Peppermint" Cain.
We need more recruitment in Michigan.

Cain for sure. Solid performance.
This is a very good problem to have.
Jamal. Great game.
Pretty sure there'd be a Scoop mutiny if Cain doesn't get it.

A 'scootiny'? Could that lead to a letter writing campaign? What would the mods do when told some scoopers don't like how the site is run? Oh, dear.

You have more posts than me. I'm writing a letter.

Bailey & Cain played together quite a bit against Jacksonville. Both with 27 minutes. Bailey played the 4, as he inbounded after made baskets, but they looked interchangeable on the offensive end. Cain more inside, Bailey perimeter on defense.
But with Marcus out Sacar played more at one of the guard spots.

The Cain(e) Mutiny...Hmm
Cain gets his 9 days in the spotlight.
I should have guessed, but while looking for a picture of him in action, it became obvious he spends a lot of his time jumping. Either that or he's always floating above the floor and I haven't been paying attention. Almost every picture is of him skying for a rebound or dunk.
Kudos Jamal.

It is. He was the best player in a loss to Xavier his freshman season but alas, no stud when we lose.

All is right again in Whoville
We already have the same number of different SOTGs (5) as we did all last season, and more than we did in all of '17-'18 (4). And I could easily see Greg, Theo or Ed breaking out for one or more as well. Hopefully Theo and Ed can find a groove after break.
Joey never had one. Cain you believe it?

Hence the transfer.
Glad we finally got the real reason!
