What I liked about the box score:

Solid all around, highlights for me were 1. Aggressive offensive play by Brendan and Koby. 2. 9 rebounds by Ed 3. 4 rebounds, 6 assists, zero TOs by Symir.

Only guy with a tough night was Greg.

I'd say there's less to be excited about from an exhibition against St. Norbert's than there is a scrimmage against Indiana.

1. Please point out where I said excited. Typical hyperbole. I'm not the one who claimed this was our most important game of the season. That's your silliness.

2. If you found things in the box score from the IU scrimmage that were exciting I'm happy for you. I thought the effort against a middling team playing without both starting guards was pedestrian. Sue me for being honest.

3. You're very angry. Everything OK?

Agree with all of this. I was especially impressed with the box-score numbers of Koby and Symir. Encouraging, even if only an exhibition.

1) Where did anyone say they were excited when discussing the Indiana scrimmage? You got "angry" about people discussing positives from the game. St. Norbert's didn't count for anything. Most important game of the year is Loyola.

2) That middling team without both starting guards would've beat St. Norberts by 25 as well.

3) Angry? Just pointing out the irony. Maybe everyone should wait for your approval before we decide if it's okay to discuss the positives of a scrimmage, cupcake game, or exhibition game.

1.Never got angry, just pointed out that on balance our performance vs IU was lackluster. Nobody interested in a fair assessment would dispute that. That obviously excludes you. Speaking of nobody, is there anybody other than you obtuse enough to think that Loyola is our most important game this year? God, I hope not.

2. 25 "as well"? New math? We beat them by 37.

3. Just what is "ironic" about focusing on negatives in a mostly poor performance or focusing on positives in a mostly good one? I'm interested in having honest discussions/ sharing thoughts about Marquette basketball with Marquette fans and brethren. You're not. Fine.

1) I'm pointing out exactly what you pointed out, except that one game that didn't count we were playing Indiana and the other game that didn't count we were playing St. Norbert's.  You want to take things away from the St. Norbert's game but not the Indiana game.  That makes a lot of sense.   :o

2) Talk about obtuse.  If you think my comment was that IU would beat them by 25, on the dot, you might want to look in the mirror regarding obtuse.  If I have to spell it out word for word for you to understand (I do, apparently)...Indiana, even without their 2 starting guards, would also blow out St. Norbert's.  Can you comprehend that one?

3) I'm all for having honest discussions on Marquette basketball.  You don't want to get excited about a scrimmage with Indiana but do want to get excited about an exhibition with St. Norbert's.  Fine, not ironic.  Hypocritical.

1. I took things away from both games. You apparently didn't like what I took away from game #1. Tough sh$t.

2. You said "as well". You evidently don't know what "as well" means. That's not my fault either.

3. No you're not. It's not that I didn't want to get excited about the scrimmage and wanted to get excited about the exhibition. I'm not particularly "exited" about either. But I am an interested observer. I observed (regrettably) more negative than positive in the scrimmage and said as much. I observed (happily) more positive than negative in the exhibition and said as much. That's somehow hypocritical? LOL.

That's not really how it went down.  Pretty much everyone who was commenting on the scrimmage was either making sarcastic remarks about its effect on our NCAA Tournament seeding (there's a backstory in case you are unaware) or commenting on the box score (Bailey had X rebounds, Markus only shot X amount of times, X played the most minutes).  Pretty much what you were doing in this thread.  Then someone posted a highlight video and you got upset because hey, it was a pedestrian performance against a bubble team not playing 2 of its starters but MU social media would have you believe we won the scrimmage by 50+.  I'm glad you were more satisfied with the highlight video MUBB threw out there from the St. Norbert's exhibition game, though.  But, up until you got mad at MUBB putting out a highlight video, people were pretty much taking it for what it was...a scrimmage.

That one changed.  You'll need to go to...

It's now built into the software as opposed to the modification we had.  So you'll need to rebuild your lists.

About the only thing you can take from this exhibition, How did the Chaluparena look?

Warm enough? Lighting look good? New floor design? Different food options than last year?

So far I have the scoreboard as a negative.

I don't know how it was in other areas, but the cold breeze was back in Section 107.  It seemed to have improved toward the end of last season, but I kept my jacket on last night.

Yes, that's definitely the plan.  Koby was the main guy bringing the ball up, point guard style, whenever he was in the game.

Yeah but Wojo's offense oftentimes has a guy bringing up the ball, but then handing it off to someone once its across the line.  Or have multiple people in that role.  There hasn't been a traditional, single point guard since he has been here, with the brief exception of Traci Carter.  I don't think it will happen now.

Jim, Dexter will probably be on the end of the bench and it is an exhibition game, but  Found it interesting on the stats.
Dexter Akanno had a +27 +/- Ratio in Only 11 Minutes.
With out Akanno in 29 Minutes MU was only +10 against Saint Norberts.
The game was about even until Dexter checked in.
With the Coaches preaching Attacking on both side of the ball this year, this might be something to watch.
