We got this.
Thinking we'll probably play each team twice once home and once away.
Here's what i want to see...ZERO home Sunday games(road is fine), no 3 game road trips. No 8:00 home starts, only 1 or 2 6PM home starts. Lots of Saturday home games. ;D I don't think that's asking for too much, is it??
I think you should prepare for disappointment. Since FX1 wants to have double headers, there has to be a game starting at 9 PM Eastern/ 8 PM Central. Three schools in the central time zone. Nobody wants to watch DePaul. Which leaves Creighton and MU. And they need Sunday programming once football is over.

This would be fine, just don't want any Sunday home games during football season.

That's okay, just put MU's 8:00 games @ DePaul and @ Creighton So easy :) MU's doubleheader games can be at 6..I'd rather have home games at 6 then 8.

How is this statement different from years past? Also, many doubleheader for the past couple of years had been 5:30/7:30. Truth be told, other than year 1 of the FOX Sports Big East, the 8pm games have been limited.

What I'm mostly talking about is that we got 6 of our 9 conference home games on the weekend. I's be really surprised if that happened again.
Yes....and our best non con games as well.
I'm fine with Sunday games. The more Friday, Saturday, or Sunday games the better. Ya, Saturday night games are the best, but there are only so many of those to go around.
Bad teams on a Monday or Tuesday at 8:00 are pretty much a waste of a ticket for me.

I understand, but MU had third pick at the BC. And, the Bucks are more inclined to plus up Saturdays with basketball operations is my observation. Efficiency> Staff for 8 hours, swapping out only the floors, same seating configurations versus ice and hockey, concessions maximized/food and beverage costs minimized, get shared fans downtown for a full day of basketball. And the Bucks owners know that both basketball teams share fans with the Packers...so Sunday's are better for gymnastics-like events that draw a very different target. FF owners are for profit. The BC was non-profit.
Throw in Fox who is all NFL on Sundays until early February.
Of course, I will likely be wrong.

We used to be priority #3 then #2 and now we're priority #458. It's no longer the Bucks then us, it's the Bucks and then every concert, monster truck show, Kevin Hart special and WWE match that the Billionaires want to schedule.
Last year we got a Sunday afternoon and the Bucks were on a road trip, why? Because Monster Truck had Friday, Saturday and Saturday evening

The biggest issue with 8:00 tips is they NEVER start right at 8:00 almost always closer to 8:30. Yes, that half an hour does matter.

8:15pm tip.
Yet, MU had only 3 of those home games last season.
but didn't Fox change the start times of many of the early games last season?
The start time was moved to 6:30 eastern on doubleheader nights, which allowed the 9:00 eastern starts to actually be near 9:00.
Previously with the 7:00 eastern starts they would push back the 9:00 tip to around 9:15 to accommodate the first games possibly running long.

The man.
My biggest beef is the Wisconsin game being on at the exact same time as NFL games -- Sunday 11/17 at noon (1 ET). Hate to divide my attention like that, though I know it works OK for fans of Packers (off) and Bears (night game).
I'd rather have fewer 9 pm ET games -- not for me, but Mrs. 82 has to wake up early in the morning. But she will whine a little and stay up anyway. Otherwise, no real gripes.
I was hoping to be able to go to Milwaukee for a game during a break in my HS coaching schedule as I have the last couple years; looks like Butler on 2/9 might work. Maybe Nova 1/4, and might even be able to hang around for Prov game 1/7. I'm guessing Butler will be a lot easier ticket than Nova, though.
Also was finally hoping to be able to make the drive up to GTown for a game but every year it seems to be no chance. This time, 1/18 in the afternoon ... maybe, though I have a game the night before.
And I get to Chicago often so I'm always hoping they're at DeP when I'm there. Tue 3/4 kinda blows for me, meaning it would be the fifth straight year it won't work.
As far as watching on TV ... I'm already circling all the games on FS-Wis that I need to go to a bar: 12/17 Grambling; 1/15 X; 2/1 DeP; 3/7 StJ. I really don't mind -- fellow Warrior friends and I get together for quite a few games anyway.
Weird, that there is FS Wisconsin are listed. Those RSN's were sold to Sinclair. I thought a re-branding would start in time for the NBA/NHL season.

Yep. That week between Sat 2/1 and Sun 2/9 would be perfect. Even if it's not a Div I game, just schedule something to prevent the cobwebs from building up (Creighton has done that a couple times).
The first 6 will be tough. Go 3-3 or 4-2 and we're in good shape.
Love that there are no 3-game road trips. Also love that each batch of 6 games has 3 home & 3 away.
The last 6 on paper is a great way to finish. 3 toughest at home, that last two game road swing should be a good chance at 2 wins.
DePaul seems most likely for NMD. Though the ideal situation would be to start a home and home with Notre Dame on Saturday, February 15. The Fiserv should be available as both MU & the Bucks have the weekend off.

5 Saturdays, yes but...
1 is Robert Morris
1 is Central Arkansas (in between Christmas and New Years)
1 is Jan 4th (no students, NYE hangover, NFL)
It might sound like I'm complaining but I'm sure the folks in ticketing know they are not getting big Chicago crowds until Feb 1 and Feb 29. That's unfortunate. Put it this way, if you wouldn't schedule a NMD on that day, it's not really a Saturday.

Thanks for the reminder that the Nova game on 1/4 will occur with no students on campus. Might make it a little easier ticket.
** Also, do you or anybody else know what they do with student-section tickets for the games during break? I assume they still want the sections to be full, loud and enthusiastic.

They generally have some be-a-student thing with cheap GA tickets. Not sure if Nova on a Saturday is too big for that though.

I'm not worried about Villanova on Jan 4th with no students. I'm sure the MU Ticket Office will do the Be-the-Student Plan. The student section was packed for Buffalo, Xavier & Seton Hall over break last season. Heck, the student section was almost filled on that Friday versus Southern.

You know, one way for the Big East to really "separate" themselves and get major eyeballs, is have Friday nights be one of your regular conference games nights. Sure, HS basketball is that night, so what?? You also aren't then competing with all the Saturday college football. No other conferences play on Fridays(regularly). All the eyes would be on you...or...is it a widely known thing that Friday night's aren't good for TV watching??

It's been around for years now. I have Spectrum Cable, but those three channel FOX College Sports (Atlantic, Central & Pacific) were getting stuff that was show live on the FSN stations. The ND State and Central Arkansas games should give us a read on whether the Southern attendance was more of the FF novelty or not. The PC game is also affected by the early 6pm start. Students will be back for the Xavier game, so the student crowd might be decent for a strong opponent very early in the semester?

Those seats sold well at the BC too. MU is only offering in packs for all the games while also working in groups from the MKE area (like straight A student's). It's a win win.
I tried to by singles for that Buffalo only game last year and that was a tough ticket in that section. I think MU just did me a favor. And, that Buffalo game was dynamic as those student and their families were so excited to be there.
