JS Ben Steele Article on Coach Jake. Looks like he is going to be focusing on 2021 and 2022 while helping the staff get the 2020 over the goal line.

I agree.
On the other hand, they put out very good Marquette content which is right up my alley.

No page views for most, the article you linked cannot be read without logging in as a subscriber. JSonline now has exclusive content only for subscribers.
If the JSO wants page views from the MU faithful they would do the right thing and rehire Mike Hunt.
Has anyone seen Mike Hunt?

USA Today should have a global option giving one access to all of their papers.
Having said which, I have witnessed the transition of the Detroit Free Press over to Gannett and the FREEP kept all of its sports coverage free - a policy continued under USA Today.
Would I pay for MU coverage on the JSOnline site? No. Because the coverage is piss poor.
But if the Free Press started charging for access to Wolverine articles I would pay it gladly. They assign great reporters who blanket the U of Michigan sports scene with a lot of solid content every day. (Hell, the Harbaugh interviews alone would be worth the subscription fee.)
The JS was always a very marginal newspaper; highlighting its coverage of Marquette basketball only reinforces its reputation as a resource-starved fish wrap.
Charging for access to content makes sense if the product warrants the fee. And for the Marquette hoops fan there is virtually no product to speak of.

All excellent interviews, hey?

The thing about Harbaugh is that he is a goofy guy. There is no better way to describe him.
What is great about his interviews is that he speaks his mind. And he doesn't hold back. Unlike Wojo, Urban Meyer, etc... Harbaugh lays it on the line. Wojo can speak for hours and say nothing. Frankly, I prefer a man who isn't afraid of candor.

Yep. Goofy sometimes embarrasses but when mixed with honesty can provide insight. The only good thing about 10 minutes of "coach speak" is that it isn't 20.

This. There's a few articles a month I'd like to read from USA today affiliates. If one sub covered those, I might do it.

I have an online subscription to the Journal-Sentinel and have limited access to the TC Palm, the Gannett paper in Stuart/Vero Beach/Port St. Lucie, FL.
I agree with you though. I'd like to see a package that, while more expensive, would have unlimited access to Gannett's chain of newspapers. A Gannett Network subscription, if you will. It would provide access to other places I once lived or care about, including the Tennessean in Nashville (Gannett owns the papers in the state's major markets), the Des Moines Register and, of course, Milwaukee.
