look at their guys, and we were in with them recruiting, perhaps to the end.
wonder what our team would look like with:
3 Burns, Draelon G 6-4 210 Sr (3V) Milwaukee, WI (Laurinburg Institute)
1 Currie, Jabari G 6-4 215 Jr (2V) Detroit, MI (Pershing HS)
4 Green, Wesley C 6-9 300 Sr (4V) Eustis, FL (Eustis HS)
13 Koshwal, Mac C 6-10 240 Fr (HS) Chicago, IL (Boys to Men Academy)
15 Moses, Thijin F 6-8 175 So (1V) Chicago, IL (Boys to Men Academy)
2 Tucker, Dar F 6-5 210 Fr (HS) Saginaw, MI (Arthur Hill HS)
30 Walker, Will G 6-0 180 So (1V) Bolingbrook, IL (Bolingbrook HS)
and those are just the guys off the top of my head...
Burns and Koshwal sure would have looked nice in gold. Tucker seems like a player.
Walker can shoot it.
Then, who would you have sacrificed for any of these guys??
tough call.
looking forward to a great rebound at the BC tonight.

Looking at this group, it is really Koshwal that is painful seeing in a Blue Demons uniform. He would have been a huge addition to this year's squad, and in the coming years.
Crean had implied that Mac would not have made in to Marquette, academically it was too much of a risk. Loren Jackson was all for Mac following his other protege, Ooze to Marquette.

Given that Thijin Moses had character issues and was dismissed from DePaul there's no way he would have lasted at MU. Wesley Green has been a headcase his entire time at DePaul, he's been out of shape and unmotivated, he even tried to transfer out at one point before his mom talked him out of it. Seems like those rumors of Crean pulling his offer after his official visit were probably a good thing, because he wouldn't have lasted either. And it is very doubtful that Koshwal could have made it academically.
So it would basically be just the guards. Burns would have been nice to have, probably instead of Amo in that class. Tucker IMO is the big one, but his recruitment was a strange experience, he was essentially a silent commit to MSU, didn't even have DePaul on his list, then mysteriously announces for DePaul a few months later while admitting he didn't know much about them. But he's a really talented kid.
are Depauls academic rigors that much worse that Marquette's??

Mac is 22 years old. He was having
trouble qualifying for college at that age. We're not talking about a kid that just screwed up in high school. He went from Julian to the Boys to Men Academy (which was under investigation by the NCAA). He's from the Sudan, and wasn't making the academic strides that Ooze made.
He had plenty of interest from the big programs: LSU, USC, Tennessee, Louisville, G"Town, and Illinois. We with others offered him a scholarship, but he only took visits to Tennessee, USC, and DePaul. I've read that academically he wasn't going to make it, and his risk factored sky-rocketed. That's why you see the programs he visited were teams in position to make that risk.

With that lineup we would have missed the BET two years ago, missed the NCAA last year, and started this year 4-7 in non-conference play, all but insuring that there is no NCAA this year either. ;D
Mac and Tucker would have been very good in MU unis.
Tucker annoyed me a bit with his attitude but that could easily be interpreted as spirit or passion if he was one of ours...
