How long will they have their first Final Four? I say 3 maybe 4 years; then changed to a zero win season. Calipari and Memphis lost theirs due to less than what Auburn has been up to.
The Pearl Necklace delivers.
I cannot comment on the how but the what is that Auburn is in the Final weekend.
Such an eventuality for Marquette would be...refreshing.
Alas, we couldn't get past a mid major of very slender accomplishment. But it wasn't that we simply lost to them. No, we were humiliated.
Damn the lack of vision. And goddamn the fools who perpetuate mediocrity.

You need to get laid.
Auburn did not "cheat" their way into the FF. They beat Kansas, UNC and Kentucky to get there.
They are the first team in NCAA history to beat all three of these "blue bloods" in the same season ... and they did it over eight days and three consecutive games!
Congrats to the Tigers, you deserve it.

Arizona did it in the 1997 tournament.
Jared Harper, you say? Oooh.. yeah,... heard of him...

Bruce Pearl is the Bill Belichick of college basketball: a great coach who still feels the need to cheat every once in a while.

CBS Sports had it wrong. You are correct (although AZ did not do it consecutively, Providence was in the middle).
Also note that AZ won it all that year.

LOL! Heise hadn't been getting the attention he so desired on Scoop recently so he went for the shock value post again...and was proven false in a whopping 80 seconds.

Come on man. First it's not like major sports coaches cheating is some kind of rare thing. And second comparing Bruce Pearl to Bill Belichick?
Regardless of whether or not they cheated, between the lines they had to beat three good teams and got the job done. There was no "crapshoot" about it. Pearl's a slimeball, but he can coach.

Ummm okay? Not what I was talking about. Memphis, UMass and Louisville didn't cheat in a tournament game either, yet all their wins were wiped out. Read the news lately?
Sum y'all may 'member I have a little bit of history wit Bruce. Happy for Pearl and his son, Steve, who sits on his bench. The man can flat out move mountains, hey?

UWM going from Bo Ryan to Bruce Pearl is like
Favre to Rodgers or Montana to Young.
Just amazing.
NM
I'd rather have a first round blowout loss to a midmajor than have a slimeball running our program.
I'm happy for Pearl and Auburn. Hope they win it all.

Auburn's wild last 7 years:
— Player arrested for fixing games
— Lose 23 games (most in SEC history)
— Hire coach on show-cause penalty
— Assistant guilty of bribery
— Another assistant suspended over bribery allegation
— Beat Kansas, UNC, Kentucky for 1st Final Four

Good point. I had forgotten. Real Wisconsin flavor here- Dick and Tony Bennett, Pearl and izzo from iron mt.

Why, Goose?
I'm not being even a little snarky with the question, just legitimately curious why with Izzo/MSU, Bennett/Va and Beard/TTech also still alive, you are choosing Pearl/Auburn.
Do you know Pearl personally? Do you just like rooting for the biggest underdog? You like the way they play more than the other teams? You hate the other coaches or programs?
I always find it interesting to learn what motivates anybody who roots for any other team when his/her team is no longer in the tournament.
I think Beard and TTech is the most interesting story left in the tournament -- I mean ... Lubbock? -- so I'm kinda pulling for them. And I didn't like the way Pearl ratted out Illinois only to get caught cheating himself, so I've never been a fan. Otherwise, Bennett or Izzo would be fine, too. I've always admired the way they've prepared their teams.
My rooting interest in the final 4......Anybody but Auburn........
What an embarrassment it would be if they won it all with that cheating slime ball at the helm.
Go Virginia!
Breaking news, all coaches cheat, hey?

Go Virginia!
Like Calipari?
Or maybe Pitino?
Or maybe Coach K in 2010 using Lance Thomas?
Or Michigan and the Fab 5?
Of Bill Self and the FBI tapes?
So excuse me if I don't get outraged a slimeball is in the FF. That seems to be where most of them end up.

But not all of them are cheaters AND rats. Takes a special kind of sleazy to pull that one off.

Auburn is lucky they didn't lose the first game to New Mexico State. Bruce Pearl didn't make that young man miss those free throws.
Don't bother printing the Final Four banner, this will be vacated in the not too distant future.

This is not true. Pearl had a show cause penalty, that is bad. Now one of his guys involved with the FBI probe. Not a good look.

I believe it's two assistants. One convicted already. I'd be shocked if their season doesn't get vacated.

I would have been pulling for Texas Tech if Auburn had not won. What Auburn has done this month is what NCAA is all about. I could not care less about Pearl's past, present or future. I think their play on the court has been great entertainment. As for Pearl, really have little opinion on the guy personally as I only met him a couple of times. Plus, I love how jacked up Barkley was with boys in FF.

Thanks for the answer, Goose.
I agree Auburn has had a hell of a run, including a classic first-round "escape" reminiscent of ours vs. Holy Cross and Davidson, and I like the way they play. I love watching TTech, too; the fact that I find Beard a lot more palatable than Pearl pushes them over the top for me.
Whenever we get together for that beer, first round is on the guy whose team loses first!

Consider it a bet. Win or lose I will enjoy talking ball with you. Sorry guys, if this is considered texting on here.

Dave and I had that beer at the Roanoke last night.
As for the $100 bet you lost he said he will parlay the Buzz bet into a "Wojo Death Watch" wager
Crash
The Wojo Death Watch would be impossible, because we both would want the same side. Glad you two met.
