It's on ESPNU..part of Sports Pack...channel 609.
Sports Pack is $12 a month...or less (if you have HBO, Showtime, or one of the other premiums it is less than $12)
Sports pack is a wise investment of you enjoy college bball, plus local sports news from all over the country.
Thank you fellas
Lets get a 'dub tonight
Sports Pack also will get you some, but not all, of the MU games that are Full Court on various regional sports networks, i.e. Sports New York, Mid-Atlantic Sports Network and Altitude.
full court sux because it is not in hi-def. I have both packages but rarely use full court for MU games usually SNY or the like. Next year I will not get Dull court if it is not in hi-def. I believe I would have only missed one game anyway by not having it (UWM?). Sports pack is the wa to go.
No way that Full Court will be in High Def....with over 450 games, just won't happen.
Does anyone else think Full Court picture is abysmal for standard definition?

yes
I actually thought ESPNU picture was better than FC last night. I can't see any reason for this. Can anyone give us the truth on this matter?
Some of the FC games are in HD. I believe the MD game was on channel 95 or 96.
I get the sports package on DirecTV.
The U Conn game was televised on the MSG network-- at game time, my screen went black and I got some message about DirecTV's contractual obligations in the area, etc. etc. But as far as I could tell, the only other way to watch the game in Chicago was to pay for ESPN FC.
Chicos, will I be blacked out for all games that are carried on regional sports networks (like MSG Network, regional Fox Sports, etc.) if they're also televised on ESPN FC?
Sport pkg sux - big time. $12 a month is a joke.
Full court is good this year because they almost every MU game. The picture is bad...but it works. There are rarely any basketball games in HD which to me is a joke. In todays world, every channel/show should be in HD. I think ESPN only has two or three HD games a week. Tuesday and Saturday night. What a joke.
On another note, I am disgusted that in Milwaukee, CBS on Direct TV isn't in HD. Apparently they don't have a deal worked out with the Milwaukee market. What does that mean? UGH
In the past I've liked the Sports Package in the past because I get a lot of good regional games-- Gonzaga, for example, is almost always on one of the western regional Fox stations. Also, last season I was able watch Marquette quite a bit on the MSG and other NYC-area channels when they were out east.
However, if I am not going to be able to watch any games that are on FC, the sports package isn't worth the money. I'll just drop it. And I will go out to a bar to watch FC games.

Well they aren't taken from that package....it would be a direct feed from an RSN then.

LOL. Do you know how much it costs to do a game in HD? Let alone the logisitics? To give you an example, CBS doesn't even do every NFL game they have in HD, let alone all of the college basketball games out there.
There are so many games, so few HD trucks and even less bandwidth. It will be a LONG LONG time before every college basketball game is in HD, that includes ESPN...a LONG TIME. Over 85% of the nation doesn't have HD and this country still has 100's of local markets that are still in analog until February 2008...let along digital (or High Def for that matter).

I need more information....you have sports pack, live in Chicago, don't have ESPN FC and the game was blacked out? You got a 727 message on your screen? What's your zip code....usually ACC games are blacked out from time to time but I am not aware of any Big East issues. But I can look into it.
I don't think you will get all games on Sports Pack if you don't also have Full Court (although you should get SPorts Pack channels if you get Full Court). That is my understanding.
Chicos,
Is it me or is their a drop in quality on FC on Directv? I realize it is is SD but the picture seems poor compared to other SD games on other channels.

It depends who is sourcing them. Since it's digital...garbage in and garbage out. Some of the FC games look fine, some others don't.
A lot of it depends on who is producing them and how they are uplinking to ERT.

do you realize if you got the sportspack only you would see as many Mu games as if you got FC only? And they would be in Hi def? Furthermore if you got sports pack at $12 a month...nov, dec, jan, feb and march would add up to $60 versus $100 for Fc? just wondering

See above, if you don't get Full Court, I believe lots of the sportspack games will be blacked out. I am pretty sure you can't back into Full Court through sports pack.
that is incorrect...it was either last year or the year before I did not get FC becuase they had very few pre-con MU games. But i always get sports pack and watched all their games on MASN SNY etc come conference time and watched all the games thay had that year on the U that is not part of FC. LIke I said go back over the last 2-3 years and see how many games you would get with FC only, it is fewer than you would have gotten with Sprots pack only and the games are in HD.

Depends where you live, some of the games on MSG and FSNY are only distributed in Sports Pack on the east coast and blacked out elsewhere. So Sports Pack is a good option for some, but not all. As for the games in HD...I don't think any of them this year have been sourced in HD that I recall.
i watched the cincy game on SNYHD channel 624? it was also on FC. Very blurry and fuzzy on my 52" LCD on FC wehn i compared and i watched it in great clarity in 1080i stretch on SNYHD. Not sure if it matters or not but i noticed when the cameraaman got knocked over by Ooze his camera had a big ESPNHD sticker on it.
Well it can be broadcast on a HD channel but not be in HD....SPEED HD is one like that right now. It's broadcasting in 720p I think, but it's all upconverted programming at this point as they don't have any original content.
I have a listing at work that will tell me if they truly are broadcasting in HD with HD cameras and I'll check this week. It's possible, it would just surprise me for some of these games.
As far as standard definition, I've seen every MU game I've wanted to see this year with the SportsPack other than one, UConn. MSG seems to be the only regional sports network that occassionally has an MU game on where it's blacked out. SNY, MASN, Altitude, YES (previous years), FSNs (previous years), Comcasts (previous years), Sunshine (previous years) are almost always clear with the Sports Pack without Full Court in West Central Wisconsin.
Mr. Hayward...I just checked, and though the game was on FSNY-HD, the game was not sourced in HD....it was an upconverted feed. That will still look better than a 480p picture, but not as good as true hd in 720 or 1080. I just verified the same on my DVR as well.
Eye....correct, they are almost always in the clear with the exception of MSG.
One of the many benefits of playing in the Big East for MU.
I get Full Court, however, not just for MU but for every other game as well.
