An athletic PF or center who can score and defend
More toughness and less finesse
Some zone mixed in when the matchup warrants it
A team that peaks before early February
What did I miss?
Inb4 new coach
A real coach. Not a headcase that thinks he's the star of Hoosiers.
A playing time allocation strategy that acknowledges 20 year kids are not machines and cannot play 35+ minutes per game for 5 months straight. That would be nice.
a new coach
A true point guard.
Coach letting go of his fear of calling out/disciplining his star player.
A real point guard
New coach
A gameplan where we keep players in front of us and stop helping leaving wide open threes. Perhaps a gameplan that doesn't play right into the hands of the superstar we are facing. Perhaps a couple guards that can pass.
More players who can effectively penetrate on offense. This has been a continuing problem for years. Hopefully Elliott and McEwen can change that.
My wish list:
CHANGE ANYTHING! Has Wojo ever done a midgame adjustment? Hell he barely adjusts through a season.

Yeah man. That really killed Villanova last year. Obviously with their top 6 rotation guys all playing more than 27 mpg and no other players playing even 15 mph beyond that it's clear why they flamed out so early.
A new coach. So no has proven over five years that isn't very good.

Its almost like 20 year old's aren't completely efficient machines who are the only capable humans of doing such things...
Theo get some sort of offense game as opposed to the "we know its coming" hook shot.
He only plays half a game due to fouls and Morrow at times is a beast, but undersized. Morrow had 8 rebounds tonight, but missed a dunk and was blocked twice by the heavy set one star center from MSU.
In the last seven games, six losses, Theo had 27 points and 27 fouls. Thats not very good.
Throw team played scared today. Rushed, hectic, MSU dictated pace, style, tempo. MU didn't pass, settled for shots you can get anytime in the shot clock. Defensive indifference.
The team is mentally weak. Team plays tight like they're afraid to screw up. That comes from the top. A fresh PG will not "cure" MH hero ball. It's who we are until something changes.
1. An offseason of health for everyone.
2. Use that health to get quicker feet, particularly Sam and Joey.
3. McEwen and GE to come back and be what we hope they are.
4. Clarity regarding Ike.
5. Time in the weight room for BB.
6. Another trip to CP3 camp for Markus.

I'm not sure if Steph invites college players to his camp, but if he does I'd much, much, much rather Markus learns from Steph (and the Warriors system) than CP3 (and the Rockets iso system).
I wish I would not give up drinking for Lent...that would help my ability to cope with the annual soul-crushing tournament "dis" appearances for my beloved alma mater.
Off-season wish list
1) Scoop to take a deep breath and realize today was a bad day and we should not burn Wojo at the stake in front of Joan of Arc for it.
2) Someone teach Theo some offense.
3) A team that plays with poise, even when it gets down by more than seven or eight (like it did when it came back from a 12-2 run by Murray State).
4) BB and JH becoming sophomores (as in the great Al saying about the best think about freshmen....)
5) Greg and Koby being what we hope they are....
and an outlier....
6) Nico Mannion reopens his recruitment after Sean Miller is fired and elects to come to Marquette.
Off season wish list?
1) Lateral quickness.
2) Strength on the basketball.

1.Bad day? How about bad month? The final month is when the contenders peak and the pretenders wilt. We were the biggest wilters in all of college basketball. I'll give you that injuries played a part, but we looked really gassed in the most important part of the season. Why? And better yet, what (if anything) will Wojo learn from it?
2. He'll get better, but I don't expect much.
5. Never seen Kobe, not sure Greg is all that.

Very much agree with this. I am totally fine with players having bad games...it happens. But I am getting sick of the "I love my team" answer to "what is Markus doing that he can fix?"
Learn how BE style and tournament hurts NCAA outcomes. Mr. tough guy, thug mentality does not win NCAA tournament games. We have one very predictabl style of play, it must be easy to scout us. There are no suprises, it is the same team and game plan game after game. Throw a wrench in and you win.
1. Markus - learns to pass and decides that 10 assists per game is his #1 goal for next year. 18 pts / 10 assists should be his goal.
2. Sam - Improves quickness, becomes featured scorer, finishes season with 18/10/5 and is 1st round potential
3. Sacar - continues to improve jumper, finishing above rim
4. Joey - improves quickness, becomes 2nd featured scorer, can take over games, never disappears, finishes season with 12/8/5 or better
5. BB - Improves strength, develops more range on his jumper, learns to finish in traffic and above the rim.
6. Jamal - stays. gains confidence.
7. Greg - an injury free year, leadership, complete PG, can guard opponent's best player.
8. Ed- a jumper out to 15', better hops
9. Theo - control. Some offense. nice guy campaign
10. Ike - freedom
11. Koby - true PG skills

2,4. The Hausers aren't going to improve their quickness noticeably, because quickness is something you either have or you don't. Its not like they haven't been working on it for years.
7. Greg Elliott never struck me as a true PG last year, not sure this is even a goal of Wojo.
9. Nice guy campaign isn't important for Theo. Not constantly fouling is important for Theo. He needs to play position defense and wall up more and stop selling out for the block, avoid dumb off the ball fouls on offense, and most importantly get rebounding position so he doesn't foul chasing rebounds he's not in position for. As muscular as he is he is not strong with the ball, too.
I like the rest of the list, though.
