Poll
Question:
Which 5-12 upset is most likely to happen?
Option 1: UW/O, duh
votes: 73
Option 2: MU/MSU - fire Wojo!
votes: 12
Option 3: A/NMSU - can't beat 30 wins
votes: 14
Option 4: Miss St/Liberty - could happen, I guess...
votes: 8
High stakes - if we win and UW takes the upset so glorious, but the converse... can't even bear to think about it.
Maybe we'll smoke out a few UW trolls.
Not even a super badger hater (didn't grow up in Wi), but that's a pretty obvious one. Seems like a tough draw for Wisco. And in Cali.
You have it wrong, Oregon is -1 now.
Oregon would not be in this tournament if not for the past four days, they play in the worst P5 conference in the country. That said, there will be some Oregon fans there because of their fans in the Bay area, but do they care enough to come out? UW-madison has a large alum base here in California.
Hoping Oregon, they are hot, but that conference just awful this year.
We have a tough one, pray that Ja doesn't become Steph Curry out there.

Ja Morant literally couldn't be less like Steph Curry other than they are guards and play basketball at a high level.
Don't care one way or another about how Wisconsin does. I don't think Oregon has anyone who can check Happ. These two played a great one in a Milwaukee in 2014.
I'm picking NMSU. Ridiculously efficient offense, scoring balance, strong rebounding margin. They'll take Auburn out of their game.

I'm talking about taking over a game, yes I realize he is a slasher and not a shooter. Watched 4 or 5 times this year, including their tournament. Athletic freak.

Yeah, a team that has won 30 and 19 straight (must be longest active streak?) with most of those wins being complete dismantlementings is tough. But lost any real tests (and a head scratcher to Cal Baptist - a first year D1 team). Kept if close with KU though.

Powell, Akinjo, Ponds, and Booth say 'hi'.
Why did you set up the poll so you can choose only one? I chose the UW game but I also would have chosen the MU game as well because the team has not played well as of late.

So does Markus.
ESPN went through 5/12 predictions. Thought it was interesting Bilas and Greenberg not only didn't pick Murray St but almost dismissed the possibility. The one caveat they added was Markus' wrist. Bilas immediately picked Oregon without hesitation

He does. What truly scares me is that Morant is better than Powell, Ponds, Akinjo, Booth. MU's defense against aggressive attacking alpha guards has not been stellar. What comforts me is that Murray St has beaten no one and MU has beaten Louisville, Wisconsin, Buffalo, K-State, and Villanova. 10 quadrant 1 wins to not many.
I am trying to be optimistic, but my gut keeps telling me that Ja goes for 35-10-5 and MU loses a shootout.

Morant is different from those players, too. For one thing, he is unlikely to deliver killer 3s like Powell does, and he is not surrounded by great offensive talent.
I respect him, obviously a great talent.
I actually like that pundit after pundit is predicting an "upset" -- which of course makes it not much of an upset if the majority is expecting it.
Warriors by double digits!

Good, just hold the other players to 25 points and MU wins.

They are going to score some. Though their defense against good teams hasn't been too good. As always this year, limit the turnovers and don't let them get 10+ offensive boards and I think we win this one.
Does Oregon really start 4 players that are 6'9"? I suspect that Happ will struggle when constantly double teamed by 6'9" guys. The only way I see UW-Madison winning is if Trice and the Flopper get uncharacteristically hot on the threes.
