Poll
Question:
How far will our tem go in the 2019 BET?
Option 1: Lose in the quarterfinals
votes: 36
Option 2: Lose in the semifinals
votes: 26
Option 3: Lose in the finals
votes: 24
Option 4: We got this
votes: 33
OK, Scoopers, we've heard a variety of opinions about the team considering its season in whole and with respect to the recent skid. What's going to happen in MSG/NYC?
I voted on a quarterfinal loss. The combination of (1) MU's past history in the BET, (2) the team having lost its edge, and (3) the likelihood of a game against St. John's, a bad matchup for MU playing on one of its home courts and needing a win to solidify its NCAA bid, adds up to a dreary early exit. I could see a repeat of the conference season opener.

If Marquette does end up losing to St. Johns then they do not deserve a good seed in the NCAA tournament. St. Johns does not even deserve to be in the NCAA tourament. You can tell me there record and blah blah but they lost 4 of there last 5. Aren't even .500 in the weakest Big East in probably 20 years and lost 2 games each to both Xavier and Depaul. Yes they might just be a bad match up for MU but they belong in the NIT and if you lose 3x to a NIT team well then you get what you get selection sunday.

This and watching MU my whole life tells you it is extremely likely they lose if they play SJU, If Depaul somehow wins then I think we win a couple.
Way things have gone I vote they miss the plane.

DePaul swept SJU this season winning 79-71 at SJU and 92-83 at home. Would not be an upset.

I voted the other way but could easily see this happening with all due respect to my long term view of the next couple of years.

Ponds did not play in the game at SJU.
I think we make it to the final. But I admit that is partially just me trying to be positive!

It's funny. If we win game 1 I'm also positive we'll beat SHU/Georgetown. It's either going to be loss to SJU/DePaul or playing Saturday night, in my opinion.
This might belong on TAMU's viewing guide, but correct me if I'm wrong in the rooting interests for Wed/Thu games as follows:
Wed
PC over BU (NET reasons)
DePaul over StJ (easier opponent)
Thu
TBD over Nova (potentially easier Sat night game)
X over CU (NET reasons)
MU over TBD (obvious)
Gtown over SH (NET reasons)

Seems right to me. I wouldn't be disappointed if Nova/SJU win though. I want a 3rd shot at both of those teams.
Perhaps someone could answer a couple of questions for me. I would be appreciative:
1. Where can I find a printable bracket for the BE tourney
2. How do I post. I posted here because there was a box at the bottom to "reply". But most of the time there is not. What do I do then?
Breaking Odds to Win Big East Conference:
Villanova+200
Marquette+210
Creighton+460
Seton Hall+560
Xavier+1300
St. John's+1300
Georgetown+1800
Butler+2000
Providence+3200
DePaul+4600
I legitimately have no idea what to expect of this team right now. They have me completely confused

I may throw $10 at Depaul just for shits and gigs. 46 to 1 odds are pretty neat.
