Don't know why i am even bothering...because things look bleak, but I guess if DePaul can beat SJU and Georgetown can beat SH MU MIGHT I say MIGHT have a chance.

Made it to second day, something positive
Yeesh. That 1 seed is looking real nice. Imagine losing to St. John's 3 times in a season...
#redemption
Ouch.
If we lose 6 in row to close the season, it would be such a bummer.

The difference between a fan and a player in one post.
I'm looking forward to a chance to play SJU again. Would be a perfect chance to get some fraction of mojo back.
The 1 seed was there for the taking, which is another kick in the nuts.
I've learned to have zero expectations of the team under Wojo. We are capable of winning this, but would not be surprised if we don't win another game all year
This bracket is definitely not ideal but does give Wojo the chance to show he can make adjustments and it most likely starts with the team that has taken us down twice followed by the two teams that were part of this rough stretch. If wojo learned anything over the last two weeks this coming up tournament is the place to showcase it. If I were one of the players I would come out pissed off and see if we can blow out each team but that starts with Wojo getting this team prepared.
The team has to be pissed off/ embarrassed they had 4 chances to win the Big East and failed.
The ability to play St.Johns then Georgetown then Nova and beat them can really swing this teams momentum for the NCAA tournament.
Almost think I'd rather play St. John's. They have a VERY short bench. Could see some jelly legs playing two nights in a row.

I agree 100% with this. A win over St. John's is what this team really needs to get its confidence back.

Agree. But, what if we loose to stj for a 3rd time? I do not see us beating stj on their home court.
Hope I'm proven wrong

It could be a big turning point, but I'd rather be playing Depaul. Playing St John's at the Garden is a tough matchup. I'm thinking we'd have better odds against Depaul.
If MU plays SJ someone is sure to pull out the myth that it's hard for one team to beat another 3 times in one season.
Not the "ideal draw" at all and we probably make it a 5 game losing streak.
But lets be honest, we suck right now and have just lost at home Creighton and Gtown...playing SJU the 7 seed shouldn't be some dreaded scenario.
We have been straight ass and were in all 4 games. That's how meh all these teams are. Shouldn't be afraid to play any of them.

Imagine St. John's losing to DePaul three times in a season.
Imagine being DePaul. Their best team in recent memory, and still tied for last in the BE.
At the beginning of the season, the big gripe was their inability to win away from home. They beat Creighton in a game they didn't necessarily deserve to win, and launched a pretty nice run.
I think beating St John's may be what they need to give them some confidence going into the tourney. But I'm also an optimist who is disappointed with the last 4 games but overall okay with the season on the whole.
You get what you earn. Regardless of who they face, a confident DePaul team or a SJU team that's beat them twice, there's no excuse to lose. It's put up or shut up time

Yet if we win 6 in a row after all is forgiven, hey? Then people will freak out about where he is leaving for.
Does anyone know if playing St. John's in the BET counts as a neutral or road game in the committee's eyes? Not a big deal either way, just genuinely curious.

Road game.

Gonna be 9 straight, newsie.
We got this.

It is hard for one team to upset another 3 times in one season, though. Fact.

I agree with this analysis. Time to flip that switch

Only because I'm too lazy and much too computer-illiterate, when was the last time we beat St. John's at MSG.
Please, please don't tell me it was the NIT title.

Going off memory, BET in Wojo's 2nd year with Henry.

I'm thinking 2016? It was Ellenson's season. Scored over 100 I believe.

Actually, it was only 2 times removed from playing them in MSG. And it was the big east tournament. And Wojo was coaching. Shocking, I know.

It just might be hard for MU to beat DePaul for the 3rd time.
I'd honestly rather play SJU. As someone else said, time to start exorcising some demons. And Depaul honestly has been a better team than SJU for several weeks now.
I'm sure with Wojo's ability to adjust, we'll be fine against St. Johns...
