Villanova destroyed them by 28 on January 27 but they were at home and playing much better then. Seton Hall is still on the bubble so hopefully they bring it.
I certainly think so. Villanova isn't very good. They're decent along with most of the BE, SH included. And Seton Hall is playing for their tourney lives. I expect Nova to get all they can handle just as we did. They rely on the 3 even more than us and if they're cold they can absolutely be beat
Of course.
There is no great team in this league. Everybody has a shot against everybody, especially the home everybody.
Go Myles Powell!
No....SH just won their Super Bowl Wednesday night...classic let down spot.
Well their game is at 11 so we will know by tip if we have a shot or not.
The upper deck will be open. So, there will be great energy in the building.
Of course they have a shot. I'm guessing the line is Nova by 3, and with their extreme reliance on the 3 ball if they aren't hitting they can be beaten by anyone. Powell needs to go Full Markus in MKE and/or they need to a very good job of rebounding Nova's long misses. It's really that simple.

No letdown at all. SH will be ready.

FIFY.
No. Villanova is Villanova.
There is zero reason to expect SH to have a letdown. Their very NCAA tourney lives could depend upon this game. I would think Nova would be more likely to let down, although I don't expect that either.
I also think that kind of stuff is vastly overrated. If Nova shoots well, they win this game, probably going away. If Nova has one of their (many) bad-shooting games, and if SH gets a huge game from Powell and does the little things, SH certainly can win at home.
Nova lost to Furman, Penn and Georgetown ... and now some believe there is no way they can lose at Seton Hall? Hmm.
Yes they have a shot.

Let down? You act like they notched a big mid season win. They haven't achieved anything and are still fighting for the tourney. Those aren't remotely let down type circumstances

Literally every single post that you have is exactly opposite of what my thoughts are and I am thankful that I see things so differently than you. It honestly amazes me that for as much as you follow the game of basketball and how the quality of your life seems to depend so much on how your team does, that you seem to know very little about the game. We have no idea what will happen on Saturday, but I think Seton Hall winning against us makes it more likely that they beat Villanova on Saturday. Beating Marquette was not their Super Bowl; it was a good team that beat another good team and gave them some confidence as they try to lock up a tourney bid. Would I bet money on Seton Hall winning? No, based on how many of the Big East games have played out this year, but I certainly think there is a decent chance.
And to criticize Wojo in other threads to the point of swearing and wanting him gone because of a three game losing streak towards the end of an excellent season, is way over the top. As someone else pointed out, several top level teams have had three game losing streaks this year, including defending national champion and current Big East leader, Villanova. We are all disappointed in the three game losing streak, but most of us can put it in to some sort of perspective and are looking for a nice turn around tomorrow and in the Big East tournament. We were ahead in all three games with 5 minutes to go, so this is not a case of other teams "figuring" out how to beat us, but simply a team that played very poorly the last 5 minutes of each game. My strong feeling is that it is a fatigue issue and that Wojo will have to figure out a way to combat that through practice adjustments and game management earlier in the game.
Do they have a shot? Is this a real question. Torvik gives Hall 45% chances and is only giving Nova 1.2 points. I think the game is a toss up.
FWIW, I think Hall is in the tourney either way. I suppose a loss here, and a loss in the first round of the tourney against PC or Depaul would make it really close. But Hall has significantly better wins then the teams around them. They're in, IMO.

You know why I say I don't think Seton Hall has a shot?? Because as an MU fan, just when you get hope about something...you get let down. It never fails. Look at this year..MU is cruising along, basically had a BE title wrapped up, possibly a chance for a 2 seed in the NCAA's...and look what has happened?? You get your hopes up about a recruit coming, things are looking good etc...he goes somewhere else. I mean sure SH has a chance, but as an MU fan, I'm doubting they win, just because that's the way things go for us typically. Been there done that, many times. I hope I'm wrong.

Wow!!! I am no longer going to get angry when I read your posts. I honestly feel bad for you and I can't imagine living life this way. I am not a crazy optimist and life certainly has it's ups and downs, but whether my sports teams win or lose will never affect the quality of my life. Ever. I love it when we win; I get angry when we lose. I cheer like crazy, watch every single game in person or on TV and I religiously read MU Scoop, but at the end of the day it is just a game and life goes on.
Also, I am a huge Wojo fan and love that he is building the program the right way with the right kind of kids that also happen to be pretty good at the game of basketball. Every single one of those young men are excellent ambassadors for Marquette University and I do believe it takes longer to build a program when you are recruiting only high quality character guys. Unfortunately you severely limit your recruiting pool when you do this, but in the end you have a group of athletes that you are proud to have representing your University and they attract a similar type of student-athlete and that is how a well-respected upper echelon team should be built.

Except for when they win a game you want them to win (which they've done 23 times this season) or land a recruit you hope they get (which Wojo has done often to rebuild a fine program).

Good for you...I hate being "lectured" by so many that there are other things in life etc etc. Everyone's lives are different, we all have things that are important to us, but might not be important to someone else. Aren't we living in a world/society now days where we are told to not be judgmental?? What works for you might not work for everyone else. What works for me, is different then what works for someone else. That's okay. It really is.

You bring up a good point and I apologize for "lecturing" you about how you choose to live your life. That really is your choice and we do not have the right to judge you.
However, your anger and oftentimes unwarranted criticism does make coming to MU Scoop less enjoyable and that is why people call you out on it; because it affects us. I wanted to come to MU scoop on Wednesday night to have intelligent discussions about what has happened during the last five minutes of the last three games, but I knew there was not going to be a lot of rational thoughts being displayed and so I stayed away.
Also, you really don't have the right to tell people not to lecture you or judge you, when that is what you constantly do to Wojo and his players and other MU scoop members. Our coach and our team are made up of a group of people that work extremely hard and are doing everything they can to win, and thankfully doing it the right way. They are far from perfect, just like every team in the country and they all frustrate their fans at some point throughout the season. I for one am very proud of the team this year and am pulling for them to get out of this slump and finish the year strong, building momentum for an even greater year next year.

A fellow scooper taught me something the other day, Pollyanna. If I understood correctly I don't think this is it, seems like the anti Pollyanna.
I thought I was unintelligent or maybe too young to understand the phrase, but I've asked multiples and no one else knew either so I felt better. Thanks to whichever scooper it was that taught me this, I love using it!
As for you, cheer up mr guru. It's been a helluva year, a lot of fun for an extremely large portion of it. I'm not gonna lecture you but I think if you, and a lot of others, take a much broader view of the season as a whole you'll learn to appreciate it much more.
Besides, we still do have a chance at a BE crown on the last day of the season. I sure as hell woulda signed up for that before it all began.
I always tell people that at some point during our only BE title season I remember thinking to myself "man as Marquette fans we've been really spoiled with these good teams since 2003, pretty much feels like we make the dance every yr"
I looked around and saw that some major programs were really struggling yet MU was moving along just fine, as if I knew the days of drought would come.
We aren't nova, unc, duke, etc. MU only has 1FF since 2003, but I still felt that MU fans were blessed, instead of feeling like the team just wasn't good enough like the blue bloods.
Perspective is important, Marquette is finally good again. Do yourself a favor and enjoy it! (Pollyanna speaking of course)

Exactly. MU was in the drivers seat 3 games ago, and they crapped all over the floor and themselves. Villanova will clean up, and probably win BEast tourney, unless St. Johns does. And Wojo will look shellshocked while praying for a new power point to impress who he has to.

I enjoy your posts and look forward to your thoughts. You are a true blue MU fan and that is a very good thing. Keep coming with your original point of view, I think it is helpful to have the conventional wisdom questioned.
T-rank gives Seton Hall a 45% chance of winning. So yes, they do have a shot. A good one at that.
Lol at the hot takes in here
I guess they had a chance!
How could a team playing for a Big East title lose a game at Seton Hall?? Jay Wright would never let that.....wait
Yes.
Nice prediction, tower912. LOL
How could Tennessee lose on the road with a chance to clinch the SEC title?
To the OP, yes, apparantly
Meh..still a shared title..kind of hollow when they had chances to seal it up a week and a half ago..they backed their way in.

You're a sad sad man.
Every championship ever won came because somebody lost.
Any shot?
How 'bout a 100 - mothereffen - percent shot!
What a crappy coach Wright is! Didn't his team know what was on the line?
Jimmy Jackson said the Wildcats lost because they made a lot of mistakes down the stretch. What? A team with Booth and Pascall? A team coached by Wright? A team that, unlike Marquette, is tough and smart and takes care of the ball?
And wasn't Seton Hall obviously due for a letdown because beating Marquette was their Super Bowl? Isn't that what somebody who sees things the rest of us don't said?
OK, I've had my fun. Seriously ...
I am surprised at how many knowledgeable Scoopers -- including many folks whose hoops IQ I really respect -- thought Seton Hall had little or no chance to win this game.
Y'all have seen a ton of BEast games this season. This has to be the most balanced league, top to bottom, in all of America. In this league, the cliche is true -- any team really can beat any other.
And what about the way Nova has played for about 2/3 of the season led y'all to believe they were a lock to win a tough road game against a very motivated Seton Hall team that has just about as much talent as Nova does? Again, Nova lost to Furman, Penn and Georgetown; they ain't winnin' another national championship.
We lost to Nova because a guy who averages 4 ppg had the best game he probably ever will have in his life. The carriage turned back into a pumpkin and he is again firing scuds that have no chance to go in. If he shot like that against us, we win by double-digits.
We lost to Hall because Powell did to us exactly what he did to Kentucky -- an excellent player shot out of his mind. Down the stretch today, as he kept missing shot after shot, I kept talkin' to the TV: "Come on, Powell, do to them what you did to us!" If shot like that against us, we win.
In the end, a good Seton Hall team won at home against a good Nova team. Neither team is close to great. Frankly, this outcome wasn't even a little surprising to me.
Time to go watch us beat Georgetown. Although, again, we're not a lock either. That's the 2019 BEast.
Go Marquette!

Alternative view, the only reason we were in that position was because nova pissed their pants for three in a row. It would've been such a hollow championship knowing the only other team competing for it choked it away.
