With their 80-57 win over Providence today, the Marquette Women finishes Big East play 15-3 and wins the BE Regular Season Title outright (they would have shared it with DePaul had they lost today and DePaul won).
Now hopefully the MU Men will be wrapping up their own BE regular season title soon also.
Go Marquette!!!
Name two things the Lady Warriors did that the men could not ..
BE Title .. and they beat SJU today to advance, 88-57.

And they played much better today than they have been playing the last month of the season. Hiedeman showed why she was the unanimous choice for BE POY with a phenomenal game today. Now they face Georgetown in the semifinals on FS1 at 3P central tomorrow. Georgetown is a team MU has trouble against but so was St. John's and they overcame that nicely today.
This was the first time since conference realignment that DePaul didn't win outright or share the BE title.
Go Marquette!!!
Bump - the semifinal BET game vs. Georgetown is on FS1 now.
They moved back up to 13 from 17 in the AP poll this week - they have an outside chance at still hosting if they can win the BET.
Go Marquette!!!
We already lost to SJU in the BET? Dang.
Hiedeman looking good early. She is a joy to watch.
Great start for the women.
22-12 end of the 1st
Currently on a 20-0 run...up 29-12
Hoyas close on a 9-0 run.
Halftime score 39-33 MU up
It got down to a 2 point lead but Marquette is on an 11-3 run and has a 52-42 lead with 3:25 to go in the third quarter.
Another big run by MU. Should be good to go.

Yes - nice 15-0 run to put them up 62-42 heading into the 4th quarter.
Georgetown made another run in the 4th quarter but Marquette withheld that and wins 75-62. It's nice to have the last two BE POY's on your roster - Hiedeman and Blockton both had 23 points and Blockton added 10 rebounds to get a double-double.
They advance to the BET final for the third straight year and chances are pretty good the opponent will be DePaul for the third straight year. DePaul has won 9 straight games and I don't see them losing to Creighton tonight.
The final is on FS1 tomorrow night at 8P EST/7P CST
Go Marquette!!!
Nice win by Kieger and crew. Any reason they weren't dribbling it out at the end with a double digit lead and 20 seconds left? They tried hard to score again. Bad blood with Georgetown?
no the subs were in and why not let them play

They started their last possession with more than 30 seconds to go so the shot clock was going to expire. They missed a shot and Altia Anderson got the rebound under the basket and tried a put back shot and when that was missed other players tried a shot. Yes I suppose they could have known to pass the ball back out and kill the clock when the shot clock reset. But as said above by another poster, it was all the subs in and they're probably not as used to this situation. Kieger and the GT coach hugged in the post-game handshake line - I don't think GT took offense to it.
DePaul had a close fight with Creighton but did win to setup the battle between MU and DePaul for the BE Tourney title for the third straight year. I'm hoping for results more like 2017 when Marquette won rather than 2018 when DePaul blew out Marquette. Facing DePaul in the final is good for Marquette for seeding possibilities in the NCAA Tournament.
May have to do a test run to Mustang Harry's tomorrow to catch the championship game at 6:00.
