Whatever your feelings about the FF and how it was funded, it's hard to imagine how its two biggest users could have done a better job breaking it in.
QuoteMarquette University athletic director Bill Scholl calls it a great combination for the first season at Fiserv Forum: A state-of-the-art arena and a league-leading team featuring star Markus Howard.
As a result, Marquette will record its most sellouts in at least 30 years. All categories of ticket sales are up and the university likely will finish in the top 10 in home attendance nationwide.

Apologies. The automatic sign-in makes me forget that sometimes. The gist:
***
Marquette signed a seven-year lease with the Milwaukee Bucks in August 2017. The new venue already feels like home, Scholl told the Milwaukee Business Journal.
"It's everything we hoped it would be," Scholl said. "It's an amazing arena."
Non-student season tickets increased to about 8,200, which is the highest since the 2013-2014 season, said assistant athletic director Brian Morgan. All 3,000 student season tickets sold out and young alumni tickets also sold out.
Marquette likely will finish the season with an average of 15,500 to 15,600 per game, which will be the highest since the 2009-2010 season, Morgan said. Six sellouts — including the final two home games March 3 and March 9 — are the most at least since Marquette moved to the Bradley Center in 1988.

SK, I'll work on getting the pictures-only version of the story, just for you.
Re-sale ticket prices for the last 2 games are getting a little crazy. The Nova game was nuts too.

Conference title team. New Arena. Less seats.
As, I tell people in fall if you don't have season tickets, mini plans are a great value.
MU ticket office handled this transition with excellence. Plenty of choice flexibility as well.
That said, Season Ticket holders already have received a survey about renewal. I would rightly expect an increase.
It will be interesting to see what they do with the tarped section in the student section. Lots of idle prime inventory for 90% of games.
Better schedule, better team, new arena built for a great fan experience.

They were crazy for some of the other recent games too, but many went way down a day or two before the games.

Not really. Anytime there was a demand for a game, the tarps were off and the seats were filled.
Best part, the attendance matched the number of folks at almost every game. Sold tickets make the world go round, but nice to see people at the game.

YES. I just wish there was a little more flexibility. Several years ago the two mini plans were:
Game A (Wisconsin)
Game B (high-ranked Big East foe)
Game C (high-ranked Big East foe)
Choice of Games G, H, I, and J
Choice of Games G, H, I, and J
and
Game D (big non-conference game)
Game E (National Marquette Day)
Game F (high-ranked Big East foe)
Choice of Games G, H, I, and J
Choice of Games G, H, I, and J
Now it's A, B, C, D, and E or F, G, H, I, and J with no wiggle room.

Truth be told. The mini plans in where MU has tried to do to give wiggle room in picking your games. Or mini plans where you could pick a game, than pick a section did not sell well at all. It's seems most people like, give me my games and a set price type of plan.

The 10%. Revenue can be and was increased by selling those at a higher price. The Be a Student Plan was very successful.
What's the feeling on the student bow tie? Louder? Better student experience? Still seems awkward and disjointed at times to me. I would be interested in student feedback.
All of you folks who are complaining about resale prices: remember this next year when the mini plans become available.
You could have purchased one (or both) and still come out ahead of the scalped prices for the games you really wanted. It's not Marquette's responsibility to make sure the games you want to attend are available. Its fiduciary duty is to sell the most tickets at the best possible price.

Not a student, but I love having students on both ends. I think it it great having that energy on both ends of the court and it looks good on TV too with the students standing throughout the game. The downside would be if there weren't enough attending to make those sections look well occupied, but that hasn't been an issue. I think the covers look good for those games that may not be as well attended. It was also a good idea to open the student section up to others for the games over break. Those sections filled in nicely and provided access to lower level seats that some ordinarily wouldn't have.
In the room for improvement area, I think more could be done to foster interaction between the two student sections (and others for that matter). I always think it is a cool effect to have chants back and forth between sections, and I'm surprised this hasn't really been done so far that I've seen. A simple example would be half the stadium, or one student section, chanting "WE ARE" and the other responding with "MARQUETTE." Obviously more creative chants could be utilized, but I think something along those lines would be great and easy enough for the cheerleaders to start. The DJ led chants haven't seemed to have worked very well.
The closest thing I've seen to suggest this would be fun if it did get started was the impromptu back and forth cheering that occurred when the fan behind the MU bench was shown on the jumbotron questioning a ref's call and ended up pointing back and forth to the two student sections. Those of you who were there probably recall this-it was pretty funny. I think it was during KState or Buffalo, but could be mistaken.

Agreed - arguably, MU did not charge enough for the tickets as proven by the current demand.

I sold the last two. I was amazed by the prices I got. And they've gone up in the past week. Prices for Creighton look comparable to the Villanova game from last year.

Yep. Put what I thought was a crazy price on my Creighton tickets and they sold within 24 hours.

I had 12 lower bowls for Nova. Could have sold all for $7800 on the secondary. Pack prices are going up, way up. Which as a STH, i am glad about as I always felt that they were too discounted and needed a donation attached to them, especially as PPs no matta.
I also don't think those tarped seats are untouchable. Maybe student tiered games?
Not sure it's a matter of "fault" as much as a matter of misjudging the level of success.
Sure, MU could have priced tickets higher, but if we had lost a few of those close games, they might be sitting on unsold seats. And sure, people could have bought a mini-plan, but again, if we had lost a few of those close games, people might not be able to sell the ones they couldn't use without taking a loss.
Anyhow, I'm guessing MU sells more season tix and mini-plans next year....
Funny how winning has changed things. Remember that survey one year ago this time with the 3 different maps of price points? Everyone freaked out about the prices. Many said they were done. Also, #12 Kansas State brought a nice crowd of over 15k. Well, short of a sell out in early December. The attendance increase is because of winning and Marquette being highly ranked we have not seen six seasons.

I don't know that it's funny as it was what most referenced as the other side of the 'value' complaint. This university has proven over and over that the money (attendance + donations) is there if the product is good. Hope it's not a lesson we ever try to test.
