Don't know if anybody has posted this before but Pomeroy has us going 27-3 or 28-2 depending on how you look at, with only an 11% chance of losing to UW. Man, I can't wait for that game!!!!!

wow.. and the two losses are REALLY close:
first loss predicted is at UConn (67-65). A DJ three could fix that :)
second loss predicted is at Pitt (70-69). A lazar alley oop could fix that :)
A perfect home record would be fine with me...I believe the last time we did that was 01-02...DWade's first year (actually playing)...and coincidentally, mine as well
He also gives us a 98% chance of beating Louisville at home and 92% on the road. ???
Does that mean I can get 49:1 and 11.5:1 odds betting on Louisville. Ok Pomeroy, here's my dollar.

hmm.. I could use a new laptop.. but I'd have to bet against my team.. sorry.. I'll stick with my clunker :)
I promise Spiral - the money would go straight into the MUScoop Scholarship fund. ;)
I didn't realize bar patronization was even an official major at MU let alone eligible for scholarship sponsors.
You didn't????

I was thinking the same thing as I was going through the schedule--how can I get these odds?
Of course, I would rather have my thumbs cut off, forcing me to hit the space bar with my forefinger every time, than bet against the Warriors.
Obviously I don't put too much stock in these predictions as they are just churned out of one guy's computer but just for the sake of it here are some of his other predictions:
MU 27-3 (13-3)
UW 21-10 (10-6)
UWM 7-22 (5-11)
Pitt 25-5 (12-4)
G-Town 13-16 (5-11)
Louisville 14-17 (5-12)
UConn 26-4 (13-3)
Syracuse 20-10 (8-8)
Villanova 25-5 (13-3)
ND 23-6 (12-4)
G'Town 13-16 (5-11)
ND 23-6 (12-4)
This guys obviosly some sort of magical basketball wizard. He must be so nervous about someone stealing his mystical prediction formula.
QUACK!!
Yeah as I said, its just one guy using some formula he made up, its just cool to see someone predict MU to do so well.

I agree, just saying I don't put a lot of stock in what he's saying. I hope I'm wrong.
It's like any other early season computer rankings like the RPI. with a limited sample size, it tends to produce some goofy results. Check back in about a month and i bet its predictions are a lot more reasonable. regardless, it means nothing...as the saying goes, that's why they play the games.
Clearly, we should be awarded the National Championship right now. The season is merely a formality.
