Sam
Joey
Sacar
Take your pick mods.
THE TERROR
Could pick several, but I'm going with Sacar
I'll go Sam, but all three are worthy.
1. Sammy/Joey
2. Joey/Sammy
3. Sacar
4. Team
Good contributions from Ed, Theo, M2N
Go Warriors!
No wrong pick. My first instinct is Sacar. But Joey doesn't have one yet.
The whole team
NM
Anim paced this team in the 1st when we were struggling. Hausers slammed the door.
It's Sacar.
Perhaps more importantly, welcome back, Joey
Sacar
Sacar
Sammy with the double-double
Sacar
Sam
Joey
But there's a good argument for any order for those three.
Anim. So many smart plays. Great D and some beautiful assists. Also two big baskets in second half when PC started making a run
I'll go Anim. But can definitely make good arguments for Joey and Sam, too.
Either Sam or Sacar. I'd lean towards Sam because he was so good on the glass.
Hauser
Anim. So many smart plays. Great D and some beautiful assists. Also two big baskets in second half when PC started making a run
Sacar barely over the brothers
Sam.
Great game by Sacar. We get lulled into taking his defense foe granted.
Sacar - he kept us ahead when everyone else was cold.
Sam & Joey honorable mention.
Sacar
My eyes said Sacar
But the box score says Sam
I gotta go with Sam on this one.
Sacar.
He set the tone of the game in the first half with Markus hurt. Others feeding off of it. If you have Sacar nailing shots. Marquette can't be guarded.
I'm going with Joey. Sacar and Sam are both worthy, but I think this is a huge game for Joey to get his confidence back.
Ed was also very good today. Great effort from so many today.
Solid Sam with the double double.
Sacar was great, but 18/13 and 2 blocks cannot be overlooked.
Sacar by a nose
Sammy or Sacar, both money on offense. Sam better on the boards Anim on the defense. I'm probably leaning towards Sam.
Joey and Ed are a very close 3rd place. Joey found his stroke but still struggled on defense. Ed had a great defensive game on Watson.
And while he was clearly off tonight, Markus was a steadying presence. If my count was correct, 9/14 turnovers occured when he was on the bench.
Sam by a nose.
13 Rebounds the difference.
Sacar.
Sacar
Tony Smith voted for Sam Hauser on the radio boardcast.
Joey because he needed this game like this, to play well.
Sacar
Timing of his play allowed the others to close it out.
Great team win!
Sam/Joey/Anim
all three deserve it
Sacar
Sacar
Sacar set it up, Sam closed it. I'll go with Sacar.
Sam, very close with Sacar and Joey
1. Sacar
2. the Hauser brothers
3. Ed Morrow
I'll go Sam because of his work on the glass. Sacar 2nd and Joey a distant third
Sam and Sacar are both good choices
Dave Hauser.

Sam. KPom agrees
I think Sacar gets it today. His first half performance was huge. When Markus is limited, sometimes it takes a little while for us to figure out who is going to step up. Sacar showed up out of the gates today and set the tone early.
I also think it's Sacar. Without him coming out scoring like he did, we might have found ourselves in a bigger early hole...could have changed the complexion of the game.

Wait, Why Dave? Stephanie donated half the genes and 100% of the work during gestation.
Sac-man!!! Game reminds me of d wade. His defense is stellar and his offense mid range game continues to improve. Terrific athlete and college player.
Sacar but it's tough.
The kid scored 7 or our first 9 when the offense was struggling mightily and then locked down their best perimeter guy. Love the little floater from the right side of the lane he's perfected.
But damn did it feel like Sam had even more boards than the 13 in the box score.
The Hauser combo was sooooo efficient - 13-18 from the floor 7-10 from 3 for 33 points to go with 20 boards.
Nice game for Ed 11 and 5 with good D to hold Watson to 10 pts, he's one of the best true bigs in the league.
Let's hope Markus is ok.
Sacar. Biggest glue guy in college basketball.
By the way, Morrow has a little Bob Jackson in him

Agree on both points.
both hausers were solid, BUT gotta go with sacar. if he has an ordinary game or less, we struggle a little more

If giving Joey SOTG would guarantee he played like this every game, I think every Scooper would join the Joey chorus. But just as me doing a lot of Scoopin' about Nova didn't keep the Warriors from beating the Friars, Joey's status in the SOTG sweepstakes won't affect him one iota going forward. Hard to believe, I know, but it's true.
So while I'm thrilled Joey's back, he's no better than third choice for our illustrious award.
Usually, it's either been Markus by a mile or Markus and another Warrior in a battle for SOTG, so it's weird to not have Markus figure in at all. But he doesn't this time, as gritty as his performance was.
This one is Sacar or Sam, Sam or Sacar.
Sam was money from 3, played stout interior D and battled on the boards. Sacar was dynamic offensively, had a couple of absolutely gorgeous assists and played hellish D.
Apparently Kenpom says it's Sam, so that clinches it for me:
It's Sacar!
Sacar! Sam had a bad first half with some turnovers/bad passes.

Exactly.... if anyone's the mvp, it's her!
Sacman
SACAR
So now we got some Scoopers choosing SOTG based on what Tony Smith or KenPom say?
I always post my choice before I look at the box score or other stats, and before I see who others are choosing. The GooooMarquette eye test.

"The strength of our team is our team."
If MU plays that way with a 100% Markus, look out.
I'm in the Sacar/Sam camps for all the reasons stated. In the end, Sacar with the edge.

Sam
This is probably the toughest one of the season, but I'm going with Sacar.

Does KenPom attempt to calculate in defense?
Really nice effort by Ed today when Theo had a very meh game. Thought Ed's defense was much improved.
Sacar

The twosome of Theo and Ed have turned into a solid weapon inside. Far less drop-off than earlier in the season.

Box score says Sam. My eyes said Sacar.
Incidentally, Sacar is starting to remind me of one of my faves from the 70's - Walter Davis from UNC who could be counted on for 15/5 every game. Not quite at that level yet, but getting better
Sacar offense 1H, defense the whole game. Sam for 13 and 18 and leadership. Can not choose between the two.

aww, i didn't know that-gonna have to give doc the 'scoop recognition he deserves with a little tomfoolery that he can use at the office...umm, Christmas party
Little Johnny's neighbors had a baby. Unfortunately the baby, was born without ears. When the mother and new baby came home from the hospital, Johnny's family was invited over to see the baby. Before they left their house, Little Johnny's dad had a talk with him and explained that the baby had no ears. His dad also told him that if he so much as mentioned anything about the baby's missing ears or even said the word "ears" he would get the spanking of his life when they came back home. Little Johnny told his dad he understood completely. When Johnny looked in the crib he said," What a beautiful baby." The mother said, "Why, thank you, Little Johnny." Johnny said, "He has beautiful little feet and beautiful little hands, cute little nose and really beautiful eyes. Can he see?"
"Yes, the mother replied, "we are so thankful. The doctor said he will have 20/20 vision "
"That's great," said little Johnny, "cuz he'd be crap-outta-luck if he needed glasses."
Sacar ate the Friars for Lunch Today! Outstanding Performance.
Sacar. Great all-around game. He looked confident throughout and seemingly got any shot he wanted. Sam put in a very studly performance, as well -- offense, defense and rebounding. But there can be only one.
Sam and Joey plAyed great. We are so lucky to have both. Sam should be an easy 2nd team BE and Joey Freshman BE.
Hauser brothers were great, particularly Sam, but Sacar gets SOTG. He righted the ship in the early going and was the most instrumental in our building a workable margin.
1. Sacar
2. Sam
3. Joey
Sam for the complete game. Points, boards and sold defense against Diallo. Diallo struggled to get his.

So..is that similar to a participation trophy?
Sam wins the box score but Sacar was SOTG. Really was key to building the first half lead and game-long top notch defensive effort. Don't forget those assists, none of which were the "easy" variety!

Sacar Animal
Sac
I don't really remember the game that well at this point, so I'm going to have to vote for the Hauitzer brothers.
This was Sacar's game. Sam was just living in it.
